Ribbed Durafoam Exercise Mat 5/8-Inch, Blue

So far so good, just really expensive.

I'm inspired to write this review because I LOVE LOVE LOVE my mat, and when I looked up the purchase date, I was shocked to see it was 2008!!!! 8 years and going strong! so very comfortable for yoga, PT exercises, etc. Folds up much better than other mats I've had. Just donated two other mats to thrift shop. Thick and protective on joints, such as kneeling. Wipe it off very occasionally with a damp cloth. Definitely worth the money. I do have a packaging gripe ---cardboard sleeve attached to mat and when pulled off to discard, some mat foam stuck to cardboard, and mat itself had large blotches with shallow craters of mat material. Is Amazon storing mat at too-high temperatures? or is it a manufacturer problem? blotches are on exterior (floor side).

This is the second mat I purchased. The first mat was for my son who works out at home and he really likes the mat. It’s thicker than the average mat & very comfortable. It’s lasted well for the past year. So since we’re having to stay home more during this pandemic period, I decided to get another mat for myself. It has been worth every penny.

Does the intended job well. My workout routine includes several floor exercises (sit-ups, crunches, leg lifts etc) on a hard wooden floor. I bought the mat because of its thick padding. Indeed, it absolutely works as advertised. The cushioning is superb, and makes the workouts much less painful. It rolls/folds up nicely out of the way when not used. The material seems strong and durable, and wipes clean/dry easily. While I was a little leery of the mat based on others' comments about a strong smell, I have not noticed any unusual or strong smell from the mat. Yes, when I'm face down in it I can smell the foam, but it's not very strong smelling. And, more than a few inches from it, it has no discernible odor. Bottom Line: good mat, doing what I'd hoped it would.
