I have Verizon for my cell service...the Verizon data service plan for $20/mth will not work with this camera...BUT, at the Verizon store they add the equivalent of a new line and gave me that SIM card...I needed to delete the camera from the app and re setup the camera again with the new 5G SIM card installed... Works great and they are only charging me about $17/mth since the SIM card will be in a camera and not cell phone... Unlimited data and 5G...awesome!

I bought this for a friend and installed it for them. LTE cameras are pricey but as long as you have cell coverage it's completely worth it.The micro SD card slot is on the back of the camera 'ball' and the sim card slot and the on/off switch is on the side. Boths cards are under a cover that you need a small phillps head screwdriver for.I bought the EIOTClub 360 day 24gb prepaid data sim card. You do have to download the app to activate it. It's actually a very easy process. You have to remember this is an LTE camera, so the PTZ function and playback can be a little slow responding depending on cell coverage.The camera itself is amazing, very durable metal casing, the night vision compared to standard IR is unbelievable and again makes the price difference worth it. This camera is essentially undetectable if you mount it in the right spot and no glow IR really helps it blend in.Mount it somewhere up high about 15' so it's not easily seen and it also helps catch a better cell signal. I mounted the solar panel about 5' above it facing south east and it charged the camera from 30% to 100% in about 6 hours of good sunlight.If you want a PTZ camera that is completely wireless and essentially undetectable this is the one for you

Let me start off by saying I have Reolink cameras all over my house for home security and I absolutely love them. They are all wired directly into my home network and I have zero problems with them.Base on that experience I ordered this camera to install at my farm an hour away. I installed the camera in a good location and tested for connectivity once I was back on the ground. Nothing. So I figured it was getting its signal and it would come online shortly. Nothing. Thinking there might be a chance I did not have the unit ON, I checked on it the following weekend. Nope, it was on. I cycled the power and saw the red LED come on and checked my connection before I got down out of the tree. It was communicating. Got down and it stopped again. Has not worked since and it is a pain to have to keep fiddling with this while it is up a tree. I have cellphone coverage at the location this thing is mounted, but I suspect it is not enough? Anyway, from the time I purchased this camera to the time I installed it, the return window has past. I'm not hating on Reolink, just not impressed with THIS camera. Meanwhile, I have a cheap cellular camera at the same location and it works consistently.I just reviewed the item I purchased and I did not receive a SIM card with this camera!?!? I actually purchased and EIOT card....

The camera is decent at remote viewing but has an issue with lens fogging. It also has a problem with losing presets on the pan and tilt function.Biggest problem is this companies SIM plan.I purchased a 10GB plan which I used up in two weeks and I needed another 10GB. I purchased a renewed plan from them. The plan expiration date changed but the 10Gb never showed up. I have been trying to either get the data or a refund.Their customer service is 12 hours out from the US time zone and their response to simply problems is less than satisfactory.You are better off using a third party like T-mobile for SIM service.Update,I have updated the rating to 4 stars.I have had several iterations with customer service and found they are responsive and willing to help work through issues. I discovered that the renewed SIM plan doesn't effect until the old one expires. This was not clear when purchasing the re-newed plan. The plan was renewed because add on date was limited to 1Gb and very expensive. Working with customer service this issue was ironed out and the new plan became effective. I appreciate them working diligently with me to resolve the problem.

Great when you have cell coverage with the Sims card you select. Respond slowly to movement commands.

Be sure to read. Not a PTZ. Has two cameras. One that’s zoomed in and one that’s not. It does move around. Just doesn’t zoom.Solar panel keeps it charged. Have never had an issue.

I bought this camera as a standalone unit that does not need Wi-Fi. I took a T-Mobile SIM card straight out of an extra phone that I had and stuck it into the camera and it worked flawlessly. Every now and again my service is slow so it will show on the camera but all in all that's not the camera's fault it's T-Mobile's. You get a great camera for the money and it has a lot of features on the app. I love how you get two different views one regular and then one a little bit more zoomed in. The zoom on the app works as well when you just pinch to zoom you can zoom in as far as you want to really. I've not had it not work for me at all it has been nothing but great so far. The battery lasts 100% of the time if you use the solar charger it never runs out no matter really how much you watch or stream to your phone or use the camera. It works great. There are a bunch of settings you can change as far as when you want your notifications and how you want them to come and where you want them to come it is really a good camera I couldn't ask for a better solution for surveillance
