MillSTEPS Breathing Exercise Device for Lungs,Lung Expansion & Mu-cus Relief Device (Blue)

This is a fantastic oscillating lung exerciser that is sooo much easier to use than the Airphysio - and at a fifth of the price. No faffing about trying to find an elusive 'sweet spot' to get the darn ball oscillating, and robust in its twist-off, perforated cap, so I won't have to reinforce the mechanism that closes it with epoxy resin to stop it falling apart. I've been using the Airphysio device for months and whilst it effected an improvement, I still find it infuriating to get into the exact position, with the pipe thing at exactly the right angle and with exactly the right pressure of exhalation for the darn ball to oscillate. This Opep device worked immediately, no faff, obvious oscillation, so much so that with the same weight ball as the other thing, I got light headed and needed to adjust it. This is worth it. It says it should last 6 months but it looks and feels far more robust than the very expensive version, that cracked and broke within a few weeks. Highly recommended.

I was sceptical about using this device, but it’s a good little piece of kit. Nothing big and fancy, not bulky, just a small lightweight compact breathing exerciser which promotes health benefits. It’s very comfortable to use, comes with three silver balls and you adjust the amount of balls to use depending on your chest strength then blow. It’s good to use on a regular basis and works well.

Although it is only my second day of using the item it is making it so much easier to clear my lungs. This item is reasonably priced and works.

Very effective. I purchased it due to a nasty attack of bronchitis leaving my chest full of nastiness. The box contains the device itself plus three metal balls of different sizes. The instructions were clear and simple so I began with the smallest ball. It was good, and I could feel the vibrations but it wasn’t enough, the middle size one was better but, in true goldilocks fashion the last was perfect. I could feel the vibrations right to the bottom of my lungs and after completing the recommended 10 repetitions I had a coughing fit that left me feeling clearer than I had been in days. Make sure you have tissue or whatever nearby for when you cough out the secretions. It is very simple to use. It’s robust, made of nice strong plastic in a pleasing shade of blue. It disassembles quickly for cleaning and reassembles easily too. It’s compact enough to store without being annoying. I’ll be recommending it to people.

The breathing expert in my local hospital recommended it to help me clear my damaged lungs. It had no effect for the first few days. Then I tasted a change in the taste of my flem which I coughed up. This indicates that its actions are removing items which have been injested into my lungs can be coughed up leaving my lungs in much better condition. I have aveolitus.

I am a convert as I have post nasal drip which gathers over night leaving me coughing in the morning. Simple to use. Simple illustrations and instructions. Easy to wash and sturdy but I imagine might be a little brittle if dropped. I have seen complaints from people that they cannot get it to work - there is a sweet spot to find as far as the level to hold device, a little experimentation and off you go. I started off with the lightest bearing, once it became easy, I went up a weight in a couple of days. This works well for me leaving me feeling clear from morning to bed time. Two 5 minute sessions sounds like a drag but you will soon realise done correctly you will be taking maybe 20/25 breaths a session if you inhale as deeply as you can through nose then a much longer exhale through mouth to pipe. You notice within a couple of days that you breathe much more deeply and slowly during the day as oxygen wise you get more bang for buck. I looked at others but as this was a sceptical experiment, I chose the ‘value for money’ option to avoid buyer’s regret. . A small punt for a substantial benefit in my personal experience.

It is a great piece of equipment for anyone who wants to improve their running performance. I use it daily. I am seeing an increase in lung power

The item is fine works as it should, is it a benefit for my health? not sure its a bit early to tell its a bit like building muscles in a gym you have to use it a lot to strengthen your lungs. and the excises will make you cough a bit. its not an instance life changer.
