Beautiful Design
This clock is beautifully designed. It holds a clean elegance, blending aspects of old world with modern lines and feel. The light white/wood color is beautiful and allows it to fit into any décor theme. It's size is good yet slender to fit into many different spaces.I have always loved pendulum clocks but my husband hates the ticking sound - this clock solves that problem for us. It is extremely quite. This is a fantastic clock at an amazing price. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

no chime, cream color
this clock has no chime, there is even a place for the chime speaker to go in the back- they couldn't afford the extra 3 dollars to glue one in? i searched for "chiming wall clock" and this was the first to pop up. i should have paid more attention, and not assumed. the pictures show this being bright white, it is that antiqued creamy color instead. at least the pendulum is not fussy- sometimes you have to align these things with the stars to keep them from banging around. also, for the commentor claiming you must take the back off to place the pendulum... you don't have to- you just slide the pendulum down the hole and hang it. it comes in packaging with cardboard that is screwed onto the back- you can remove with the applied wing washers/ no screwdriver needed.

Faux pendulum clock
The media could not be loaded. We used to have a pendulum clock in the family. It is important to realise that this product is not a pendulum clock; it is a modern battery powered clock with a fake pendulum beneath it which in some circumstances will shake about a bit. In a real pendulum clock, the pendulum regulates the speed at which the clock runs and is the part of the mechanism that ensures the clock keeps good time. In this clock, the ‘pendulum’ gives the appearance of age and performs no useful function at all, even when you can get it to swing about a bit.OK so there is a good chance you already knew that, or if not, that it does not affect your buying intentions, but I hope this dispels any illusions you might be under. This is the first clock I have ever had to unscrew from its box. Four screws on the back of the packaging have to be removed before you can set the clock free. Once you have done so, this becomes a three dimensional jigsaw puzzle. With thought and care you CAN attach the ‘pendulum’ to the clock, but no thought appears to have been given to enabling the buyer to do so. If you struggle, give it to someone else to have a try. A fresh mind will often come up with a different approach I really can see some people getting very exasperated with this.Once you have attached the pendulum, it is protected from air currents by the case. That suggests to me that you will have a hard time getting the pendulum to swing much at all; a draught would help a lot.The clock keeps time and it does look nice. Those are the things it will mostly be bought for. However there are two battery slots, not one; try putting the battery in one slot or the other, you are sure to get the right one in two tries or less! And I think the makers missed a trick. They have given the bottom of the clock a curved shape. This means you have to hang it. If the bottom were flat, you would also have the option of putting it on a piece of furniture. But given the shape, that isn’t an option. What I would really like, but which would cost a lot more, is a battery powered clock with a gear driven pendulum that acted like the real thing, even if it did not perform a real function. That isn’t what this is, so I shall give it a rating on the basis of what it is supposed to be; an attractive timekeeper. Given the nuisance involved in getting it out of the box and attaching the faux pendulum, I can’t give it more than four stars. Part of me wants to give it three. Three and a half would probably be right, but that isn’t an option. I will blame that on me being a grumpy old man and give this clock four stars.

fragile
Oh, I really love this clock. It was so handsome looking. Unfortunately, it was propped up on a stand on a bookshelf and fell. Not to the floor...just on its side, and because it's so flimsy (totally made of plastic), it completely broke into pieces! Not sturdy enough at all...not at this price point. Which is a shame. It really is nice looking.

A pretty wall clock
I was in love with this pretty clock when I opened the box and couldn't wait to put it on my wall. However, the simple instructions included are incomplete. The back of the clock must be removed to hang the pendulum and change batteries. There is no hinged door or any way to simply "pop off" the back; you must use a screwdriver and remove it completely every time. This step needs to be included in the instructions. It is quiet and lovely, and so far, it keeps the time well.
