I'm really pleased with this - honestly I feel like it is under-priced. It is ready-to-gift. Comes with all these little accessories and is ready to use; you don't need to buy anything additional! Included is a binder clip, a clip to add to the leather cover so you can attach a pen, 3 notebooks (blank, lined, grid), a pen, zippered pouch and card slots, and a heavy kraft paper “folder”. The leather is also nice and soft and smells like real leather. They included an extra elastic too. I like that there’s a leather piece on the closing elastic band versus being the elastic alone, it’s more robust and won’t leave a thin indent line. For my setup, I put in the kraft folder, the zippered pouch piece, the grid notebook and my Hobonichi weeks. My photo shows the view from the top for sizing reference. I don’t think I’ll be adding anything else for the time being. I really wanted a way to have my Weeks and another plain notebook together so I’m not carrying 2 separate journals around. This leather portfolio solves that problem and looks very nice! I’ve been researching leather portfolio type setups and while I can appreciate workmanship and quality and eco friendly this and that I’m just not interested in spending $300 on a paper planner and notebooks and some barely embossed leather that other companies are offering. I believe this set was about $32. If you are looking to “test the waters” I highly recommend this set.

Was really impressed with the packaging and thought it made the journal appear more elevated in quality. Then I opened it and put it all together and realized that it IS great quality. This is my first ever travelers journal and I’m so glad I invested the few extra dollars. It is well worth it all around. The material feels nice and the color is beautiful. Can’t wait to fill this journal up!

I fell victim to journal-tok on TikTok and really wanted a travelers journal! This one is perfect! It comes with everything you need (even a pen). It’s very easy to put together. It looks very similar to the LC ones which is why it caught my eye. It’s nice quality and again comes with everything you need. It feels nice, like leather, easy to use, easy to quickly journal or jot done anything. The leather closure makes it feel more secure, very functional and the size is perfect! I love it! Definitely recommend.

I am honestly blown away by the quality of this thing, especially at this price point. The cover is nicely made, smells amazing, and is soft. The pen holder and clip are nicely made and snug. One of the most impressive things is the paper. It's thicker than I expected, with no ghosting, bleeding, or feathering using both a fountain pen and gel pen from pilot. The lines on the paper are a good light color that doesn't distract from writing. I love the grid paper the most. The additional inserts for holding things is nice too! We also get 4 insert bands (plus the extra loose band), this is more than almost every other travelers I looked at! When doing shopping research, I had originally planned on buying everything separately, and it was going to be at least double what this set cost. I am incredibly happy with this notebook and all of the accessories. I am wondering how long the elastic band that holds it closed will last since I stuffed extras into the journal to really fatten it up, but replacements are cheap and easy to install so I'm not worried about it. If you are new to travelers notebooks and want to give them a try without spending a bunch of money, this one is a perfect entry point, and will possibly last several years.

I purchased "Refillable Leather Journal Travelers Notebook - 8.5 x 4.5 Travel Diary with 5 Inserts + Pen Holder and Binder," etc. fully intending to use it as a "test journal" before eventually upgrading to a Midori. However, I'm finding that there is absolutely no need to upgrade. The leather of this journal has a slightly less supple feel to it than the Midori's, but I would still rate this journal as a high-quality product. It does not look or feel cheap. I've treated mine with Leather Honey Leather Conditioner, and it's wearing nicely. I'm not rough with it, but I'm not super cautious, either. It gets jammed into my purse every day, multiple times a day, and it still looks good. Actually, all the action it's seeing is making it look more handsome. I plan to reapply the Leather Honey every so often. I wasn't sure that I would like the closure; the elastic band on the model I purchased has a leather "tab" on it. I've come to appreciate this feature, though, because the tab acts as an on-board pen holder for my Lamy fountain pen. I slide the pen between the edge of the journal's pages and the leather tab, and the tab helps the pen stays tucked securely inside the cover. Consequently, I do not need to use the separate pen holder. This technique might not work with a more slender pen (the Lamy is a bit chunky). The accessories that come with the journal are useful. I use the zipper pouch for odds and ends (extra cash, stamps, Post-It notes, etc.) and the kraft folders for things like receipts. The binder clip is handy for keeping the journal open to a specific page when I'm writing. The notebooks that come with the journal take fountain pen ink without feathering/bleeding through. I do find the paper to be a bit thick, and it adds unnecessary bulk to the journal. Consequently, I'll probably make my own refill notebooks of thinner paper. The thickness of the paper in the notebooks contributes to my four star (rather than five star) rating. My only true complaint is that the elastic is, as others have noted, a wee bit loose. This is something that can be adjusted, but I do prefer the level of tension in the Midori system to this journal's system. Still, this isn't enough to cause me to switch to a Midori, and it's likely a matter of preference. Even so, this contributes to my four-star rating. I'm glad that I purchased this instead of a Midori. In fact, I own a passport-sized Midori, which this journal is replacing, and I suspect that it will be a constant companion to me for many years to come. The small issues that caused me to bump this from a 5-start to a 4-star rating might not bother others. In fact, if I could give this a 4.5 star rating, I would. If you're on the fence and wondering, "Should I buy this or a Midori?," I suggest you take a chance on this product, especially if you're new to using this type of journal system. If the one you receive is like the one I received, I think you'll be pleased with the journal and become quite attached to yours (as I have with mine!).

Excellent product. I am thrilled and could not ask for a better journal. I was wanting a TN but was afraid to make the leap. I researched journals ad noseum till I finally bought this beauty. Before it arrived I happened upon a YT review whereby the person was disappointed in the purchase and I was sick thinking I would be too...NOPE! She arrived in beautiful condition smelling of real leather and filled with goodies. I have already added an additional diy notebook, diy pen holder, and diy small ruler holder. Im not going to worry about the type of inserts, they look great to me and I am going to enjoy them until I have filled them 😉

In love with this journal. It’s absolutely perfect. I had been looking for a travel size one since getting my hobonichi planner. I have issues with my memory so being able to write things down quickly and on the go has become essential. Trying to find something small, compact, yet big enough to carry all I need with me as my daily. I came across this and the reviews were really good. The price was also on point and it comes with all the notebooks, the zipper pouch, the elastic bands and a pretty decent pen. Basically everything that you need for a quick start up until you get to customize it yourself! The paper in the notebooks are thicker, I wish they were thinner like tomoe paper or what the hobonichi uses but that’s just a preference. This notebook paper is pretty bleed through. I use a fountain pen as my daily so it’s been nice not having any ink spots on the back. I do wish the paper was thinner like tomoe or what the hobonichi uses, those are also bleed resistant but just have a nicer feel. But all in all you can go wrong with this purchase!!

Beautiful and the perfect journal to set up for a first timer who wants to see how they feel about starting a Journal and is not a committed enough to spend $80. This journal is surprisingly nice. It’s the perfect first time set up. A lot of people did mention that the leather easily scratches, so if you have a problem with that, it might drive you crazy. I personally love it because the leather is just doing its thing. I even like how the pen writes. Do not regret buying this.

I was really surprised by this item. The Leather is gorgeous. At the beginning the cover loses small “pieces of leather”, but as the days went by it stopped. It's my first time using a Travel Notebook system and I am enjoying using it a lot. The notebook inserts are of good paper quality, it handles well fountain pens. I don't use the pen holder because it damages the leather, it scratches it. The pen is also great, it writes smoothly. It is a very complete set. High quality and value. I am having a great experience with it. I highly recommend.

Perfetto. E' diventato indispensabile per me e mi ha aiutato a costruire l'utilissima abitudine del journaling.Provvisto di tutto il necessario ad un prezzo molto basso. Pelle spessa econ una finitura opaca molto soddisfacente. Con l'uso si invecchia rendendo il notebook unico. Gli elastici non sono di chissà che qualità ma svolgono egregiamente il loro lavoro. Tutti gli accessori sono molto utili. La penna scrive bene ma non la ho usata molto, preferisco stilografiche. Unico appunto che è veramente una sciocchezza perfezionista, avrei preferito che il metallo della clip e del portapenne avesse la stessa finitura ma capisco che a questo prezzo era chiedere veramente troppo. Se volete buttarvi nel journaling e vi piace l'idea di un taccuino a inserti di questo formato difficilmente troverete di meglio a questo prezzo. La stessa marca ha anche il formato A5, un pelo più ingombrante ma tornando indietro forse avrei scelto quello più che altro per la vasta disponibilità di quaderni sostitutivi in qualsiasi fascia di prezzo!

Leather is fine but the paper is sub par. Pen broke after 2 weeks. Cannot properly fit all 3 booklets. Value for that price though.

Impressive quality, especially considering the price! You really do get a lot for your money with this journal. I haven't tried Midoris (now "The Traveler Company") journal, so I can't really compare the two, but this is a really nice journal. The included inserts are all fountain pen friendly, though I find them a little too scratchy for my liking, so I ended up getting Midoris dotted inserts. The included card-folder and clip is great! Can't wait to see how it ages over time. Stoked.
