Great remote B U T !!!!!!
This is a great remote - it came with my new LG TV and it is very functional and has some handy shortcuts. It feels a little weird in my hand, at first I kept wanting to hold it upside down, but I got used to it. I think I would like it better if it was more the traditional rectangular shape, but at least I can easily recognize it out of the remote pile. Here is the B U T !!!!!! I bought the remote so both my wife and I would have a remote. The problem is, only one remote can be fully functional at a time! The cool cursor only works on the last remote that was synced. Otherwise, both remotes seem to be fully functional at the same time. As a work around, I plugged a USB wireless mouse receiver into the TV and the mouse will control the cursor at the same time as the remote. My wife likes using the mouse better than the remote, so we are both happy!

Great remote if you know what you're getting.
This is a great remote for LG TV's for two reasons. is the onscreen pointer. The pointer makes doing some tasks much easier like navigating web sites on the web browser. But the best feature is the voice control. You can open apps, inputs and settings with this remote. You can also use Google Assistant and Alexa using this remote. Be sure to turn off Audio Guidance in Settings/Accessibility for the TV as neither the pointer nor the voice function will work with it on. This is not a great universal remote. It won't allow me to control my sound bar using the optical output. You have to use the HDMI ARC output. You don't have full control over your cable/satellite box either. You can pause/[lay TV change channel and volume. That's about it. If you want a great universal remote get a Logitech Harmony. However if you want to easily control your TV then this is the remote for you.

It's not exactly perfect. But it's features over the standard LG remote are excellent.
What I wish this remote had was ALL the comparable buttons of the standard LG remote. That it doesn't is disconcerting and inconvenient. Fiddling around, you can figure out how to compensate for the missing buttons. But it's an annoyance. An example is the missing 'Info' button. There's no such thing on the Magic Remote. Instead, you have to activate the remote's cursor, then click on the channel popup to get to information about what's currently showing. However, the added functionality of the Magic Remote is excellent. The voice recognition for Google Assistant works well. The layout of what buttons are provided is logical. The cursor works fine and is nicely adjustable to one's preferences. I definitely prefer it to the standard LG remote and the price was worth it. The oddly missing button functions stop it from being a perfect solution.

Fantastic!
On a while we purchased this to see what the hub was about, that’s as about 3 years ago. We can’t imagine without it now. We only use one remote, got rid of three as it controls the fire stick, sound bar and tv. No need for anything else.Makes life more simple. The voice activation is nice feature as well as the magic wand ability to use as a mouse and click.Wish they made something similar for Samsung as I have friends who love this and want one for their own use.

Legitimate LG remote
The remote is an official LG branded device. Compared to the knockoff I bought first (accidentally), this doesn't feel cheap, has some heft to it, and provides all of the features supported by the television, including the magic pointer and voice. If it had been previously used I couldn't tell. The product looks and feels brand new to me.

Not That Great
Since my new LG TV didn't come with the Magic Remote, I ordered it separately, and now I'm kind of sorry I did.Pros:1. Ergonomically, it's great. I have small hands, and this one is easy to hold. I also like the flat bottom so that it will stand up on its own.2. I like the fact that Amazon Prime has a dedicated button, because that's the only streaming service I use.Cons:1. The voice control is very iffy. I thought I could get it to access my shows on Amazon Prime, but it did a lousy job.2. The pointer is great when it works. I can use it when I'm accessing settings, but when I try to click on a show on Amazon Prime, it won't work. It did once upon a time, but no more. I took another reviewer's suggestion and bought a wireless mouse, which works great.3. It doesn't have an Exit button, but it should.4. I doesn't have "wind" and "rewind" buttons, but it should. Then there are all the colored buttons which aren't labeled, and about which there is nothing in the owner's manual. So, I contacted LG, and the following is what I received: "In response to your inquiry, the colored buttons on an LG remote control are used to access certain features which may be required when using applications or features of the TV such as music player. For example, when streaming a video from a specific app, the application may require the user to press one of the colored buttons to adjust a certain setting on the app. Or when using the music player, the RED button will display the list of files and other available information such song title, artist, or album. The GREEN button is for deleting files while the YELLOW one is used for adding to a playlist and the BLUE button returns the screen to the player." So, now you know--or not.Overall, I'm sorry I spent the money on this, since the two things it has that appealed to me--voice commands and pointer--don't work that well. If you don't want these two things, just save your money go with the remote that's included.
