Q: can you use it sitting down

I ONLY use it sitting down, as I bought it to use at my desk at work. I'm very short, so my knees don't bump my desk, but that's the only concern I can think of. Sitting down it's nice because you can experiment with what position you sit in and work out different muscle groups.

Q: Is the mini-elipitcal quiet enough to use in an office environment?

Yes, for sure. I've been using this daily for about 3 months. Sometimes it sounds a bit grindy, but it's usually that dirt got in the grooves where the wheels go back and forth. I wipe it clean and then it's quiet again. I use it standing most of the time, and people don't hear it. First of all, they glance in my office and think I'm dancing and do a double take, then they come look at what I'm doing because it's so quiet, they didn't know I was on a machine.

Q: has anyone used this with a standing desk? How was it and did it feel stable?

Yes! I work as a receptionist in a medical facility and have a standing desk. I’m on and off this thing all day long and am averaging about 15,000 steps from using this machine alone. This is a huge benefit over sitting all day long. I’ve found that while it does take a few weeks to get used to, I can type, answer the phone, transfer calls, etc., all while using this elliptical. Fantastic elliptical.

Q: I live alone...How hard is this to put together as I am not mechanically inclined and hate putting things together...

Super easy. Mine came without assembly instructions and I still managed fine. The only thing that I was unsure of was where the black disc went. Watched a video to figure that out.
