She’s vegan and, while she generally eats a fairly balanced diet, normally takes a range of supplements alongside.The recommended dose is one a day and she’s been taking one almost every day for about a month now. They’re not the biggest tablets we’ve seen, but I’d say larger than average. She’s not had any difficulties swallowing them though.According to the blurb, these vitamin/mineral pills help with bones, muscles, hormones, and energy levels, which make them sound like miracle tablets. She was hoping they’d help with period-related hormones and pain, which are supposed to be benefits of magnesium and vitamin B6, although these pills are not specifically marketed for this purpose. As I said, she’s only been taking them around a month so far, so perhaps it’s too early to say anything conclusive as yet. She says she didn’t notice any real difference before or during her last period, but felt that she recovered a bit quicker than usual afterwards, which may or may not be down to these supplements. She also takes other supplements containing vitamin B6 anyway, but she’s been doing that a while, so these have been the only recent change.Overall, she says they aren’t miracle tablets, but did think they were good. She’ll carry on with the rest of the bottle (which should last another couple of months) certainly. Beyond that, she’ll continue taking these substances, as she has before, but they’re already in other supplements that she takes. Magnesium is fairly abundant in nature, and is found in foods like almonds and spinach, however it is one of the essential elements so it is important to make sure you get enough of it. Insufficient Magnesium in the diet may have an adverse effect on migraines, muscle spasms, high blood pressure, osteoporosis and anxiety disorders, amongst other side effects, so a dietary supplement may be useful for some people. These tablets by Cheeky Nutrition also include Vitamin B6 and seem to be of good quality with each one containing 150mg Magnesium (40% NRV) plus 25mg Vitamin B6 (1786% NRV) with anti-caking and bulking agents in a product that is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Each bottle contains 90 tablets which, with a recommended intake of one per day, gives a three month supply for a around twelve pounds currently from Amazon. As with all dietary supplements the results will vary from user to user and may benefit some but not others.
