Rock Mold, Facet Rock

I have purchased several different rock molds for may train layout. Each one looks and creates great looking rock formations. These are well made silicone molds and will last forever basiclly if treated right. Easy to use and easy to clean up after...Great buy for your layouts or Diorama....

This is a rock mold worth having. The flexible, rubber-like material is around 1/16th" thick. It will last a long time. The mold produces fine, detailed castings. You will not be unhappy.

This mold yields a very nice and realistic rock face. The mold is easy to use and is versatile since you can either partially fill it for a flexible face or completely fill it for a more dramatic and "rugged" face. I love it!!

This was just to easy using these molds and Hydrocal. Dont forget to spray the mold with wet water (1 cup water and 2 drops of dish soap) the details came out beautiful from the mold..spent about 20 minutes painting and this is what I got. These molds are great!

I gave this one 3 stars because it is thicker than my previously acquired silicone rock mold making it much more difficult to remove the cured rocks without breaking them.

Fantastic detail and 5 stars are appropriate, though I would take off half of a star because there should be 10 modular casts to connect with this one. I bought 3 other molds from the same company, they are all smaller and not as "facetted" as this one, though. On the fence about the price because the detail is worth it, but having repetitious rock forms can look ridiculous on a large diorama display. So it's basically $10+ materials for one large palm size rock, you can only get the cost down with having the same rocks everywhere. I won't like that too much. I would like to see what the rest of this rockface model looks like, I have maybe 10 linear feet of cliff face at the 3" height of this cast, but it is only 8 inches long and the last 2 inches always breaks off because it is so much thinner than the rest. More of this type of rock mold, please, Woodland Scenics! This is probably best for low skill / high budget modelers who aren't able to carve their own rocks and have money to burn. Probably the ultimate best use is for model railroad installers who could use and reuse this mold job after job over many layouts instead of just having cloned rocks all over one layout. 4.5 stars.

High quality mold, easy to cast and extract. Beautiful details. Perfect for what I need.

Good mold. Make sure to follow directions on plaster package. Mine said to remove after 45 minutes. If u wait longer, harder to get out of mold

I have a good collection of rock molds, the latest from this supplier is exactly as described. The ease of forming and release are fun to use.

I love woodland Scenics stuff and this is no exception. Easy to use, excellent, realistic finish. I put some washing up liquid on the mould first to help release.

Product worked perfect.
