First, if you want true high fidelity sound, perfect tracking of your cassette tapes, flawless sound reproduction and total control of bias and tone, this is not the equipment for you. Spend more. But if like us, you are blessed with a library of old cassettes, CDs, have not lost your hearing completely and want to reminisce over the oldies, this is a good value. The seller is somewhere in California, and their option to ship was by Amazon USPS slowest method. It still got here a day early. Packaging - bless our buddies at Amazon, the packaging is double wrapped, very secure, and pretty wasteful. But the product is intact, and there were other reviews that really diss this machine. It arrived with no damage. The volume and tuning knobs are a little bit cheap, and you will need to reattach them. Use a little double-faced tape on the knob shaft. Radio quality is just fine. It is as good as whatever your local broadcast stations are. No, it is not a digital tuner. Too bad - you'll get over it. Like I said, spend more if you need those features. We tested it immediately, and I have some old, slightly damaged tapes, but they sounded "okay" - the machine is not going to fix the fact that the cassettes were sitting in a hot car during the summer. CDs play fine. The controls are very basic. If you want, you can take it to picnics, run it on batteries, run it off a generator. You can put it on a shelf, in a stereo cabinet, detach the speakers and set them apart. They're not high end speakers, but they'll do just fine for the average sized room. Definitely not for a concert hall or a large reception area. The connectors are basic mini-phone pins. There are some other features, like a USB port for MP3 files. Sorry, again - no aux input ports, if you need a phonograph, there are other models to look at. Overall, you will be very happy, as we are, with this purchase, and Amazon will do right by you if you are dissatisfied.

It's NOT stereo --- it's monaural --- crazy these days, I think. I found out (the hard way) that the jacks to the speakers were monaural (only 1 band on their 3.5mm male jack), because the unit would not play on my stereo jacks (which have two bands on their 3.5mm male jack). So, I had to buy two adapter jacks (RCA females to 3.5mm monoural males) to get it to work on my outdoor patio speakers.. But once I received the two adapters (one for each speaker jack), everything played well. So, outside of being a monaural (not stereo) unit, all is good.

I was not happy with this product. It stopped working after only a few months. It would not power on or off. I gave it away.
