This is an excellent train set, perfect for setting up and running as-is, or customizing and building into a more elaborate display. Set-up is simple, with a number of nice options for track configuration. The smoke effect is just right, and the quality of sound effects is fine. NOTE: For those who complained that you can't turn the sound off... yes, you can! Just hold the horn button on the remote for a few seconds to toggle the sound on and off. The durability of this set is good, just about what you should expect for a model train consisting of (mostly) plastic material. The remote works well and maintains connection at a good distance. Overall, this is a great value for the money spent.

A pleasant surprise. Better than I expected. Runs smoothly. Has nice steam engine sound effects. Battery life is good. Easy to assemble. No complaints at all.

Purchased for my 5 yr old grandson. Was easy to assemble. The tracks held together perfectly and the train hasn't came off the tracks once. Very pleasantly surprised on how well it was built and held together Also larger than I expected. Not extremely loud (thank goodness) I recommend highly with pricing just a bonus being it was affordable and does all as it should. 2 thumbs up from us.

Build quality is actually quite nice for the price. The locomotive is made of metal, and there's good (if odd) details to the whole thing. The locomotive has a front light that is red (for some reason) and the carriage cars light up inside, it's actually quite handsome overall. For the price, I was really just looking for something cute to put up under a small tree I set up for Xmas, but the quality is better than expected. My one complaint is that the train is very prone to derailing, the front bogey on the locomotive comes loose in the turns. If I set it up again, I'll probably try to add some weight to the front and see if that works. Also to note: When you turn the locomotive on, it makes a whistle sound and then the "chugga chugga" noises as it moves. It starts slow and gradually increases speed along with the sound effect. A nice touch. However, there is no way to disable it, so if you leave it running it's going to chugga chugga the whole time. The smoke effect, which I honestly did not expect to work, is very charming and only requires that you fill it with a bit of water (there is a little bottle included).

Very pleased with this purchase. It’s easy to assemble and use. I was surprised how smoothly it ran over our Christmas tree skit. My favorite feature is the ability to mute the sound. Our 6 and 3 year old are able to operate the remote with ease. Excited to enjoy this train for years to come.

Train does not stay on the track. We spend more time putting it back on than playing with it so my son doesn't even like it anymore. Not worth the money. The train itself is really cool but the track is very cheap plastic.

It is a decent purchase it runs well, the tracks are bigger than expected which is great. There area few things thou that i think keeps me fron giving it 5 stars….for the price i thought the train was going to be off better material, its just plastic. Also The train comes off the tracks pretty often, specially when it turns so thats a bit annoying we have to keep fixing it. Another thing the smoke does not always work and it leaks. Other than that if we can keep it in the tracks it runs smoothly. To be honest I don’t think i would buy again.

Exceeded expectations! Assembly was very easy and the train runs beautifully. I love the details on the train. It is so cute.

Works as it should. The cars seem a bit cheapish, thought there would be more metal, but it’s easy to set up with different configurations which is nice. The steam feature is super cute. The charging of the battery car was easy, however it feels a little sketch as the connector doesn’t clip into the car, it just loosely connects, so be sure not to move it after you’ve connected it. It will dislodge. It’s not too loud, but could potentially be annoying if you intend on leaving it on for the 4 hours that it can run.
