This cradle has really changed my book binding game. I thought about getting this for a long time, so when I finally got my hands on it I was so happy. It's sturdy and the metal piece that you use for punching the holes in the signatures is really sturdy too. It sits perfectly inside the wooden cradle, allowing me to punch the holes very quickly and efficiently. I run a small business selling handmade art journals, so I've been getting a lot of use out of this tool. I already had several needle tools but I was glad that this one arrived with it's own. It has a nice weight to it and thankfully pierces not-too-large holes. If you've ever made the mistake of buying those inexpensive starter kits with all the book binding tools, you've probably received one of those fat needle tools that makes huge holes in the paper. This one isn't like that, it's actually really strong and sturdy. Great buy all the way around. Great craftsmanship. My only wish is that they offered a punching bracket that had the holes in inches ( maybe 1/4 inch ) rather than centimeters . I've needed to adjust all my measurements to make them work with my books that are measured in inches.

It’s a nice little unit. It works well. Much better than plastic, not quite as portable as a cardboard one, but it’s solid and will last my lifetime. It’s not perfect, but pretty darn good at this price point. The ruler is plastic, and not much use but the awl is great.

Quality is excellent, shipped in a timely manner, the wood frame is sturdy. I didn’t realize there was going to be a brass awl included WITH a replacement needle! I like the size as it would allow me to make a pretty big book if I wanted.

This punching cradle is a great size for the majority of the book sizes I bind. The metal V plate is a great add and I use it as my punching guide which is a lot easier than following marks on paper. The awl is also nicely made. I would recommend.

Beginner friendly and worked vary well punched cleanly through 8 sheets of paper no problem. Beginners tip use beeswax on the tip of the spike if you have difficulty getting the spike through the paper.

I was very impressed with this punching cradle's quality. Very well made with some nice additional tools. The awl is a bit dull, but that's nitpicking.

I make handmade journals for my Etsy shop but for some reason haven't yet bought a punching cradle. What a game changer! No more wonky signature holes! This was bigger and sturdier than I expected, very durable. The only negative is that I found the tip of the awl worked itself loose every few punches, no matter how I tightened it. No matter, I just substituted a cheap bulb-handled awl and it works perfectly.

This is my first punching cradle, and I don't know why I've put off buying one for so long. I'd been looking on Etsy for a more hand-crafted one, as I was hoping to support an artisan, but so many of the ones over there just looked like Amazon products that were being rebranded. This is an excellent starter cradle for anyone interested in book-making.

I am extremely happy with my purchase. Anyone who has bound a journal or book knows the importance of making the holes in the exact place. This product help to keep the papers in place and also to poke the holes where they belong. I had looked at less expensive types but I am very happy I made this choice. It is sturdy and accurate and looked just like the picture.

I find this very handy. The preset holes make punching signatures a breeze. I have a piece of masking tape indicating my holes and can bang through them fast to get it sewing.

Excellent! Worth every penny!
