Garbage Disposal Air Switch Kit, Satin Nickel, STS-OOSN

Fit perfectly and matches the faucet. Easy to install and so far has functioned perfectly. Cheaper than the box stores. Don’t have to worry about being electrocuted from a wall switch if your hands are wet.

Complete package - everything you need. Drilled my hole in the countertop and the rest of the installation was easy. Just plug everything together and it works perfectly providing additional convenience. My builder put the original switch in the cabinet under the sink, but that means you have to stop and open the door, usually with wet hands. Not any more! Now just press the button to start and stop. Well worth the $$$$. Bought the name brand hoping that it will last longer than some of the cheaper knock-offs out there.

The InSinkErator Air Switch Kit simplifies operating a garbage disposal without the hassle of wiring a traditional wall switch. After installing it in my kitchen, the difference in convenience and safety is noticeable. Key Features: No Electrical Wiring Needed: The air switch uses a small hose and button, eliminating the need for complex electrical work. I placed the button on my sink’s countertop, far from water sources, which feels safer (and code-compliant). Sleek, Low-Profile Design: The satin nickel finish blends seamlessly with my faucet and fixtures. The button sits flush against the sink, avoiding the clunky look of some switches. Dual Outlet Flexibility: While I only use it for my disposal, the dual outlet could power a secondary appliance, like a dishwasher, which is a thoughtful addition. Installation: Straightforward for a DIYer. Took about 20 minutes—drilling a 1-3/8” hole in the sink deck (use a hole saw) was the trickiest part. The included template and clear instructions made it manageable. Connecting the air hose to the disposal and power module was plug-and-play. Performance: The button responds instantly, activating the disposal with a light press. No lag or resistance, and it’s quiet compared to my old wall switch. The air-powered mechanism feels reliable, and after months of use, there’s no wear on the finish or button. Value: Pricier than basic switches, but worth it for avoiding electrician costs. The build quality justifies the price—no flimsy plastic parts or loose connections. Considerations: Requires a nearby electrical outlet for the power module (I tucked mine under the sink). Ensure your sink has enough space for the button; larger farmhouse sinks may need careful placement. Verdict: This kit is ideal for homeowners wanting a clean, safe switch solution without rewiring. It’s durable, intuitive, and elevates the kitchen’s functionality. A few points off for the outlet dependency, but overall, a smart investment for hassle-free disposal use.

This was a fantastic addition to the kitchen remodel. Easy install, works perfectly, looks great, and have never had any issues with the finish wearing off or anything. Highly recommend for a clean look for your disposal control.

Highly recommend installing this air switch on an island sink top rather than having to fumble around opening the sink cabinet door below and turning a switch on and off with wet hands as we did before. A sharp press sends a puff of air through a rubber hose, thereby eliminating the risk of shock, to start or stop the disposal . My spouse was worried about the switch getting gunked up being on top near the sink, it has been in use for six months now and she agrees it is an improvement.

Must plan ahead for countertop fabrication/installation. Great to find this product on Amazon for a fast delivery. The button is so convenient to use for the disposal.

I LOVE this product! But that said, the push switch feels a bit cheap. I would love this if I could push/pulse the disposal, meaning that it is only on when I push and when I release its off. But the switching is an on/off process and the depression of the switch is quite deep into the mounting apparatus . But hey,... It absolutely beats the switch on the wall!! The countertop mount is awesome and It was easy to install. Maybe 10-15 mins at most! Insinkorator... Please work on a pulse switch!! I will buy it as soon as it comes out!!!
