Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey | 70cl | 47% ABV | Award Winning | Small Batch | Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

One of the best Rye's I've tasted (And I've had a lot). I like the Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon, so I figured the Rye was worth a shot. I was surprised at just how good it was. This is a top 5 Rye and very possibly my absolute favourite "Barely Legal" Rye (That is, a Rye that is only 51% Rye in the mash bill and as such only just considered as a Rye). Certainly I rate this higher than Sazerac (Which is nice but pretty much your average of this type of Rye). I'm torn between this and Green Briers Rye, but seeing as you can't get that in the UK and I can't fly to Nashville every time I want a Rye, I'll definitely be picking this one up again in the future!

Whilst it might be stretching the truth a bit to say I'm a whisky expert (not even a intermediate level) I have over the years bought and enjoyed some fine and dare I say it quite expensive whisky's and whiskey's. I have a reasonable understanding of the flavours and regional differences but this time I figured I'd try a bourbon which I confess I've never done before. I hadn't any idea what the difference was until I Googled it - basically bourbon has to be 51% made from corn mash. My only real experience of American whisky was Jack Daniels which is an insult to the tongue, best used for lighting BBQ's. Vile, harsh stuff and that put me off trying American whisky's overall. Until now.And, well, I was wrong to ignore bourbon, at least this one. It's absolutely wonderful. Smooth, deep and fruity with an easy on the palette feel. My wife likes a small nip each evening now and we both agreed that this is Christmas pudding in a bottle.I'll definitely buy more of this because it's fantastic value for the superb smooth flavour.

Lovely tasteBut still only a 30£ bottle no matter how you cut it! If people are willing G to pay 44 plus £! Your really not helping;!! Your basically telling them this massive over priced bottle is ok! Again I'd pay 30! 35 MAYBEE BUT AGAIN THEY STILL ASK FOR MORE THAN IS FAIR

I have a bottle of Elijah Craig in front of me. I am now on my second glass and it tastes just like Makers Mark. JD and the rest of the American Whiskies.I am a Scotch guy normally but after seeing this brand in so many photos on Instagram from scammers, i decided to buy a bottle and see for myself.Tastes good mixed with Pepsi max but IMO there is nothing too special here. Caramel, toasted oak and vaniall and alcohol really.

Bought this for my husband as he really enjoys it. Great price and an easy drinking whiskey.
