Is this better than Bentonite?

These products are both clarifiers, but one works on positively charged particles and the other on negative.  Sparkolloid carries a positive charge and thus combines with negatively charged particles, removing them from the wine.  Bentonite carries a negative charge and thus combines with positively charged particles.  Both products attach to loose particles and sink to the bottom of the fermenter.

If you know what type of particles you have you can go right to the correct product.  If not, use the bentonite first right in the primary fermenter if you want.  If the wine ends up cloudy even after bentonite, use the Sparkolloid.  Best practice is to rack your wine off the sediment every four weeks.  It will usually take 2-3 rackings for it to completely clear.

How much wine will it clear up

I cannot recall. Its on the internet.  I now only use bentinite. I add it in the carboy, than transfer my wine from primary into the carboy.  It cleares well before fermentation is complete

Why is the 4 pack so expensive?

Clearly some type of listing mistake, possibly involving decimal points.  Some sellers may have no stock at all so they set the price high just so they won't sell any.  It is possible that there are still some disreputable sellers on Amazon who prey on customers who don't pay attention to what they are buying.  Just save yourself some money and get four single packs.

Can you kill yeast before using this? Or does the yeast need to be active?

You can kill the yeast first, it will have no effect on clearing.
