Pleasantly Surprised
I've been wanted to try a big, overbuilt knife for years now. But Medford, PMP, etc...all are ridiculously priced for something that's obviously not going to be an EDC. Then again I've tried to avoid the "cheap" ones because, well, you get what you pay for. But when I saw the Valhalla Lord it really piqued my interest. It didn't have a goofy brand name with no vowels, came wth a nice case, and most importantly...the price was right. So I figured what the heck and ordered one. I'm glad I did. The case is really nice and has a rubbery texture, and the microfiber cloth actually has "Valhalla" embossed on it. It's not just some cheap rag that they purchased in bulk to throw in the case. The knife itself felt solid. It's definitely a chubby bunny but I knew that going in, so I'm not gonna ding it for weight. It was also extremely sharp and cleanly sliced through a page out of an old Yellow Pages (that I keep around just for testing knives). The blade was perfectly centered as well, something I honestly didn't expect. And it feels good in the hand, the jimping is aggressive but not sharp and there's enough of it to cover just hand sizes. I've seen a few people mention the thumb studs and yes, they're useless as far as opening the knife goes; but that's not what they're there for. Knives like this are meant to be opened with two hands. And if you're going to open it one-handed you just pinch the groove that runs along the top of the blade, push out to break the detent, then use the thumb stud to open the rest of the way. The action felt nice, I think it'll get even more smooth after it breaks in. I hit the pivot with some CLP to lubricate and break up any gunk that may be in there, but that wasn't really mandatory. Just something I do with all my folders. But yeah if you've always wanted a PMP or Praetorian-style knife but didn't want to pay Fender Strat money for it, this is a great alternative and it'll get you most of the way there. I have absolutely zero regrets with this purchase and if they build other knives like the Lord I'll be first in line to grab one.

Bigger and better than expected
It's huge. I was able to find a few videos but none that gave a good example of how large it actually is. If you want over sized pocket knife this is the one. It's even bigger than the cold steel 4 max excluding the longer handle. The other knives o posted next to it are all what I consider large knives and it's bigger than all of them. It's as sharp as some of my sharpest small knives which is surprising for how thick the blade is. I've carried it in pocket for 2 days and it is heavy but it actually fits along side a phone better than the other knives in the photo.

The Old Guard
This thing is a beast of a pocket knife. The reviews are right. The blade comes sharp right out of the box. Love the viking look design. I mean the design is in the name. Definitely my personal everyday carry. I would definitely buy another for a gift to someone. And the price is right.

BIG Knife, very cool
I was actually surprised when I opened this knife! It's much larger than even I anticipated amd I knew it wasn't a small knife at all! That being said, fit, finish, machine work, and action are all smooth/excellent. Knife is pretty heavy, so if you're not into that, be aware. It came quite sharp too. Overall this is an excellent value for the money! The only negative might be the weight... but again, only if that bothers you.

If you like beastly knives, this is for you! Its awesome!
What a beast! This thing is AWESOME. I probably won't carry it much if at all... but man do i like grabbing it out of my knife drawer and giving it a few flicks. Lol.. D2 blade is super sharp, and LARGE... Smooth action, flicks open easily and falls shut. Pocket clip is a bit tight, but who cares! You gotta get one of these! ait looks cool and what a deal!!

Fine for most people. Not collectors
I wanted a big goofy knife. This is indeed a big goofy knife. For this size being a D2 blade, this is a great price. It's sharp and has good lock and action. Why 3 stars? This knife has thumb studs. The one that I got was nearly impossible to thumb flip it. The detent was way too strong. I get why they did that because it's a huge blade and they don't want it opening on accident. Really heavy obviously. It has to be. For me though it's gotta be functional as well as safe. I returned mine. I'll just spend $400 and get a Messers.

Awesome well built knife.
Great knife that will last a life time. If you don't like big boy knifes don't get this. It's a very thick and big blade. This will easily scare people when pulled out.
