One of our old sensors failed after 10 years and we needed to replace them all. The sensors come with plug and wiring to connect to your existing 120VAC household electrical circuit. Instructions were easy to understand and follow. Batteries come pre-installed with a pull tab that you easily remove to activate the battery backup. They fit perfectly into the previous Kidde sensor mounting bracket. Testing after installation was easy.
