Audiophile sound
In a small to medium sized room you will get the best sound from these if your receiver can cut down the lowest frequencies. Use an AV receiver, set small speaker then set subwoofer YES even if you don't have one hooked up. For any 5" driver doing mid-frequencies and low frequencies together is a bad idea, for reasons of distortion. You will notice the difference when you try my suggestion versus running them to their full range. Also, do not use them with the Fosi class D amp as I did on and off. That amp is grainy sounding. My other amp used with the Spektor 2 speakers is the Marantz NR1508 AV receiver and with that amp the speakers are superb sounding. I'm a former member of the Bay Area Audiophile Society (and renamed San Francisco Audiophile Society) and say these things above with much listening experiences. The Spektor 2 speakers are worth it.

Great sound at a great price
I had read some excellent reviews on the Dali Spektor. So, I gave them a try. I have to say they are an excellent value for a small bookshelf speaker. I'm using them as desktop speakers connected to a Sony UDA-1 DAC/AMP. The UDA-1 is rated at only 23watts into 4 ohms (the spektors are 8 ohms). Even though the sensitivity is rated at 87db for these, the Sony UDA-1 drives them fine. I never have to apply more than 25% volume to get to a fairly loud level. My initial impression of the sound (they haven't been broken in yet) is one that is very detailed and clear. The bass is about as strong as you can expect from a small speaker - but it is a tight and controlled bass. The mids are excellent. Vocals are front and center with an excellent soundstage. These are a bit bright though. Not hugely so, but I noticed some songs were bordering on sibilance where they weren't when played back on my other systems. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Outstanding speakers
I should say Outstanding tiny speakers, I was surprised how small they are. I have small Klipsch and medium Cerwin Vega speakers and I think these are equal. The only thing is they are not as loud when paired with larger speakers but by themselves that wouldn't be a problem. Or get 2 pair for A and B. Rock and jazz

Outstanding pair of Speakers
This is my first ever pair of DALI speakers, in fact part of my first ever Hi fi system! I came across DALI Spektor 2 on WhatHiFi, reviewed as the best entry level speakers. I was immediately captivated by the way they looked. I remember unboxing and feeling them in my hands for the first time and I knew then that I have a made a good choice. On to the listening part.... My speakers are powered via Cambridge Audio CXA61 Integrated Amp and after having tested 6 different pairs of speakers I stuck with these! I compared the Spektor 2 with KEF Q150, KEF Q350, Q Acoustics 30201, Q Acoustics 3030i, Klipsch RP500M and RP600M. Klipsch were the only ones that came close to the dynamics of Spektor 2. Highs were so clearly defined and bass is punchy enough for my small office. Have to say that Bass became better after running in the speakers for a week.

One of the best book shelf speakers out there
These speakers are audiophile grade for a more budgeted price. DALI speakers are engineered built in Denmark, are of the highest quality, and designed to exact standards. What does this mean? They sound amazing even connected to lower power amplifiers. I am driving these 100W speakers with a 50 W amplifier and they sound absolutely powerful with punchy bass and crisp highs that cut the mix with precision and clarity. The bass is never muddy and is well defined! You will love these speakers and I liked these so much I decided to purchase the Oberon 7 free standing model for my main stereo.

Great sound quality
For the cost these are well worth it. Rich mid tones and crisp highs.

Perfect for my needs
These are really nice. I have them set up on stands for my bedroom system. For such a small speaker, the bass is really quite good. I don’t have a sub in the system, though in a larger room you’d probably want one if you’re looking for a full low-end experience.

Excepcional valor.

Best speakers you can buy at this price point.
Delighted with these - got them under £200 in an "as new" amazon warehouse deal, but even at full price of £230 they'd be a bargain. They look sensational, either with grills on or off - old school plastic pegs rather than magnetic - so potentially a weak point in that I've had pegs snap off in speakers of old. I got the walnut pair in the deal, but I'd be tempted by the white for full price. They are partnered with electronics costing way way more than these did, and they don't sound out of place. Out of the box they sounded fantastic. Imaging and soundstage are incredible for the price. Please note that Dali recommends you don't angle/toe them in towards the listening position, and i would agree with that. I have them spaced 2m apart, about 30 cms from the rear wall on stands facing straight out into the room and they deliver a really 3 dimensional experience.. Everyone's listening is subjective, but these are "mellow" sounding to my ears, crystal clear of course, but not overly harsh on the top end treble - but that's also as much to do with the electronics your using them with. It's worth talking about Bass. I've read so many reviews with contradictory opinions about the bass response from these. I am going to say Bass is fantastic - its not thunderous and pumping, but it has deep and clear resonance - play something jazz related and you'll hear the fingers plucking the strings as if they were playing live in front of you. I was thinking i'd need to get a sub based on others reviews about low bass - to my ears a sub is now not necessary and might actually be counterproductive as these handle the bass response so well on their own. Again all of this is room/ear/placement/electronics dependent. A bit about the reason for choosing these. We recently moved house, and my listening room is smaller than previously and I had a pair of Floor standing that were just to big for the room - room is now 4m by 4 m approx - (medium/small double bedroom type size) with fairly low ceiling as (2.3 meters) The floor standers just sounded muddy and confused and boomby when cranked up and thin and flat at lower listening volume. They sounded fantastic in a room twice the size with a 3m plus ceiling - but not in the smaller room. Do yourself a favour, if you're in a room of about 20 sq m or less, get a pair of decent bookshelf speakers like these, it's counter intuitive, but you'll get better bass and a fuller sound in the room from a pair of Dali bookshelves (or other manufacturer) than from bigger speakers. Bigger is not better here. There is a reason why these are What Hi-fi product of the year for their price bracket. I've been using Q Acoustics for years for my speakers, and whilst i still think they are some of the best speakers you can buy at the price point - I have a pair of small 2010 series - their smallest and cheapest speaker the time (£100) i've had for years in another room which I will take with me to my grave (they are that good for the price i paid), these Dali Spektors are something special - i include the looks as well as the sound - they are magnificent.

What Sound
I owned the Denon D-M41 with Denon SC-M41 speakers since 2019, as I downsized from a bigger audio setup. Denon speakers were good, and the sound was really good quality, but this year I wanted more. After researching online I got the Dali Spektor 2 from Amazon. I have been listing to them for 10 days so far and oh my! what a difference. Some reviewers were incorrect to say this does not have bass. I was listening to "The Wall/Pink Flyod" and had to turn down the bass. (I live in a town house and I don't want to irritate the neighbours). I can hear sounds I haven't heard before. I use CDs (want to buy a turntable oneday), and so far all of them sounded incredible; Eric Clapton unplugged, Rod Stewart Unplugged, The Wall, Led Zeppelin IV, Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits, Bob Marley Uprising etc etc. I am going through my CD collection wanting to hear all my favourite CDs again and again. All in all, great speakers for the money, and they are highly rated by "What Hi-Fi?" and many other sites.
