Simple and easy to program

Work well and easy to program to vehicle

I got this key fob for my 2005 Ford Excursion. The instructions on remotesremotes.com were incomplete. First time trying to program per the instructions my Excursion would not enter programming mode. The instructions do not tell you that you must have all of the doors unlocked and the drivers door open. First time I tried I only had drivers door unlocked and the door closed. A YouTube video showed me how to do it correctly. Here are correct instructions.1. Hit unlock button to unlock all doors. Leave drivers door open.2. Cycle ignition switch from off to run position 8 times within 10 seconds. Leave in run position on last cycle. You will hear door locks cycle.3. Immediately press any button on all key fobs. Again you will hear the door locks cycle after each one.4. Turn ignition switch off and you are done.This is a nice key fob. I deducted a couple stars on install for not having proper instructions on web site.

Very easy to program. If you are programing two or have an old one,, you must program them together. Program the new one and reprogram the old one at the same time or one will not work.

Cheap, works great, easy to program. Just look up your make/model and year + "program remote" to find your vehicle's instructions

Bought this for my wife so she could have a set of keys to my work truck. Now I can't keep her out of the truck. She drives it more than her (much nicer and newer) car. Is it the fob, or the truck? Who knows.

This is more than just a cover, it also contains a circuit board and battery that would need to be programmed, which would also be a waste of money because the buttons stick. You cannot switch your existing fob circuit out, because the buttons will also stick when you use them. The parts store fob may be waaaaay over priced for just a cover, but it worked for quite a few years.

When my old remote got lost in the dark abyss, I chose this as the replacement. If I had the option, I would have gone with the remote produced by Ford, but I did not get the option.Reading the instructions for setup literally was the longest part of the setup. It took roughly 15 seconds for me to do. I think this can be primarily ascribed to Ford choosing to make it simple.I love the color of this unit. It looks great in person.One other reviewer mentions range as a problem. I somewhat agree. The range is better than what can be expected out of a tired unit that's as old as the vehicle. However, a brand new unit from Ford itself would outperform this one. I would estimate range at close to 50 feet. That isn't great, but it isn't terrible.
