Great tablet--Love the trade in program
This latest Fire Tablet was an upgrade from a previous purchase. When I bought my tablet in 2013 It was all I needed. I was able to read books in the dark, search the web, and watch youtube. It did everything I wanted. After 12 years it was time to upgrade, everything still worked, but it seemed slow and some of the apps were not updating.I really like the trade in program with Amazon. Instead of having another unused item laying around the house. The trade in was so easy. I choose the option to take it to the U-break it store and they processed the trade right there.Only one inconvenience the first time we went to the U-Break-it their computer system was down and they were unable to process the trade,. I went back the next day and everything was taken care of in about three minutes. The tablet has a very clear screen, though not up to the standards of higher priced tablets, still good enough quality to not leave you wanting. The processor is very quick, no more buffering for it to access, and streaming is seamless. This is now the third tablet I have purchased, my daughter also has one, and I highly recommend it for those that need a good quality tablet. If you are needing something for drawing or dead on accurate colors, then you will have to go more expensive, but for most needs this tablet fits the bill.

Easy to use
Most importantly, there is no lag time as you switch between apps. Bills quality appears good and it’s easy to hold and use. All the programs that I have used so far operate without a problem.

A Fun Tablet That Works Hard
I love my Fire HD8. Easy to set up, automatically. It's a dream to operate. Simple, intuitive and colorful, it's really fun. So many apps with everything I need at my fingertips. I listen to an audiobook while I do routine tasks on the tablet. Set up kids' time & options at the start so they're safe watching.I love how portable it is -- convenient to take with me. A perfect size to fit into my purse. Like having my pc with me but without the size & weight. I don't use my iPhone for email bc I don't want to be looking at it constantly. But I can take the tablet out & send an email or order online without waiting until I get home to my pc. I don't like texting on my cell bc it's so tiny but using the tablet gives great visibility.I already sent my sister one of these bc she struggles with her pc & using this tablet is a breeze! It make such a pleasant difference bc she doesn't really need a computer. She wants the connectivity of internet interactions like email, Zoom, streaming movies & videos. I've had more expensive tablets that have not lasted. A great tablet for the price!

Great tablet, great value (but a few features aren't working on this newer one)
I've used a Fire tablet for years and would not be without one. For the price they can't be beaten imo. I thought my previous one had died so I immediately ordered its replacement and upgraded to the 64 gb memory. I also always add a memory card so I can download and keep movies, etc. with no worries. I keep all my Kindle books, over a thousand, downloaded on it of course, and much of the amazon music that I own. Also useful for watching Prime, Youtube, or other streaming videos. I also check my email, my Ring cameras, use Alexa (but see update below) including controlling my Wyze devices, and have several streaming and simple game apps on it. It's a very versatile, durable little tablet for basic daily use. It does everything I need in a tablet, when the features are working correctly. I use my laptop for things requiring much keyboarding and for browsing the internet, but this tablet does that too.My older one came back to life after this one arrived but I decided to just keep both. This one is a newer generation, but I'm not a techie and can't tell much difference in the two. (BUT SEE UPDATE BELOW.) I highly recommend the Fire tablets. At certain times of the year they are ridiculously inexpensive and are still a great value at regular price. UPDATE:I am having a problem using Alexa on this new tablet, a problem that my older one does not have. Although the settings are correct on both of them, for some unknown reason Alexa responds on this one with a keyboard for me to TYPE what I want her to do. I don't want that! There is a microphone icon to tell it what to type, but I want Alexa to voice-respond (with the blue line at the bottom), as it does on my older Fire tablets and on my Echo that has a screen. I have repeatedly checked the settings and restarted the tablet but it will not voice-respond for Alexa. Also, it recognizes that I have an SD card installed but it nevertheless saves almost everything to its internal memory, although I have those settings correct, too. It's already used half its internal memory and very little of the SD card. Therefore I'm reluctantly deducting a star.(These are still awesome tablets for the price. My older one just works better for accessing Alexa.)

Great entertainment tablet
I got the Newest 8inch Kindle fire to read kindle books, watch prime video and other entertainment apps. For the price it is amazing quality and feels sturdy. Easy set up-Login with my Amazon account and it’s all there. For Perfect size to put in my backpack. I put in a 128GB micro SD card and can easily download 4 or 5 movies in HD from Prime and watch on planes or roadtrips as I do both for my work. I connect my noise canceling Bluetooth headphones and relax.

Great value!
I love this tablet! I had originally ordered a kindle, I wanted something just to read on with a long battery life. The kindle was barely bigger than my phone and had crappy resolution. I got this instead, it was on sale! The battery life lasts me a couple days and I can do more on it if I choose. It’s a great size for reading!

Best of Kindles.
I have loved the Kindle book reader since day one. My first was the one with built in letter pad, no lights. Had to read by lamp at night soo I moved to paperwhite Kindle. I loved it til I found the fire. I'm on my 4th fire and got my sister started on them also. I recommend the fire to everyone I meet with a book in their hand. I'm sure the Nook is a fine tablet, but I don't believe the Kindle fire can be beat, hands down. I have thousands of books for my Kindle and I can't wait to sit down to rest and read a book.
