I also like the relatively thin width of slices, again unlike my old one with adjustable width, but thin slices were hard to handle individually without damaging them. This guide makes thin slicing easy. Although I have a heavy bread knife and a light one, both in like new condition, I get cleaner cuts without tearing with my trusty old Black & Decker electric knife. This loaf was sliced cleanly and in the bag in under two minutes. One thing I try to remember to write in any review, if I had it to do over again knowing what I know now, would I still buy it? I like that it holds the entire loaf and allows slicing without moving it, unlike my previous slicing guide that can handle only one slice at a time, which must be removed before the next cut. I also like the relatively thin width of slices, again unlike my old one with adjustable width, but thin slices were hard to handle individually without damaging them. This guide makes thin slicing easy. Although I have a heavy bread knife and a light one, both in like new condition, I get cleaner cuts without tearing with my trusty old Black & Decker electric knife.
