Proster LCR Meter Digital Capacitance Inductance Resistance Tester

For a small amount of money this is a very impressive test meter. It has a large clear display and is easy to use, it comes with a useful set of test probes. I wanted particularly to be able to test capacitors and this is giving pretty accurate results so I'm well pleased with the tester.

Overall I am very happy with the product. The display is large and easy to read. The tilting display is a nice feature to help with glare. The case is good, could have done with a pocket for the leads though. The battery supplied looks very cheap and I don't trust it really so I'll be changing that ASAP. One thing lacking is a nH scale because it lacks any functionality below about 10 uH as someone else has commented. This probably can't measure that low with only a 1KHz frequency test. I suppose this is a meter for the casual hobbyist, not a professional job. You have to manage your expectations at this price. Apart from those minor points I am pleased with my purchase.

Nice to see that it came with a battery, and also a small screwdriver to open the compartment. It measured reasonably accurately on some known components, certainly within enough tolerance for my needs. For occasional use and "ballpark" measuring it does the job nicely for me. It comes with two probes and two sets of crocodile clips, one on a short flying lead and one to attach to the probes. Would be nice to have those little micro hook clips perhaps.

I have given this product 5 stars judged against cost, form, fit and function, value for money. I cannot vouch for its longevity as I havent had the unit that long. As an LCR meter it does the job. Compararison of measurements taken against more expensive LCR meters this meter was within a 0.5% tolerance at worst. Its housing construction uses a plastic that is reasonable. It does come fitted inside a robust shroud. Buttons and selector switches are positive although I cannot vouch for tbe longevity of the on/off and hold data button. The display is clear and rotatable. It does seem a little flimsy when raised but does stay in position. At the end of the day you get what you pay for, as for this nice little LCR meter does tbe job tnat I bought it for. I.e to test component values for construction projects and for diagnostic work rather than scientific application. The unit turned up 1 day before it was due, is very robustly packaged. It comes with a selection of probes, again that are ranged at the cheaper end of the market but are functional. Overall I tbink this was a good purchase and judging within my criterion, is excellent.

Excellent piece of test equipment

Great meter and easy to use. Absolutely invaluable if you need to measure inductance and capacitance. It also measures resistance but whilst I found it useful to be able to measure L, C and R on one meter, as I already had Volt / Amp meter which would measure resistance, so it was not the reason I bought this meter. I gave the LCR meter 5 stars for accuracy as it confirmed the values of L & R that I was expecting. I also used it to measure the inductance of a coil but I have no way of checking this value. Never the less it gave me confidence in my components and enabled me to complete the project. I found the price was very competitive.

Inexpensive meter that works. I used it to size up/measure crossover components in a loudspeaker and the results were close enough.

Quick and easy to use - as a bonus the leads fit my Fluke-style meter. So much better than squinting at blurry little component markings.

Günstiger Preis, sehr gute Messgenauigkeit

Het toestel is perfect voor de hobbyist die occasioneel spoelen of condensators wil meten. Ik heb het gebruikt om een reeks ringkern spoelen mee op te meten. De nauwkeurigheid heb ik aan de hand van een precisiefoliecondenstor bekeken, dat lag binnen de 2%. Best indrukwekkend voor zo'n goedkoop toestel. De afwerking van de plastic behuizing en rubber stootrand is wat je kan verwachten, maar het voelt toch stevig aan. Er zijn drie verschillnde snoeren/klemmen bijgeleverd, de snoeren zijn heel soepel en zien er degelijk uit. Ik heb het nog maar weinig gebruikt, maar heb eigenlijk geen negatieve punten ontdekt. Het enige wat ontbreekt is een handleiding die die naam waardig is, er is ook geen indicatie van de frekwentie bij de welke de impedanties worden gemeten.
