3M Double Sided Mounting Tape 50mm x 4.7m Black 0.6mm Thick

Bought this after a bit of Googling suggested it was the sort of tape I needed to stick a petrol cap trim back on, and it has done the job extremely well. It arrived quickly, was well packaged and was very easy to apply. More importantly, once fitted it has stayed firmly in place with no flapping about, rattling, banging or trying to make a bid for freedom halfway down the road. The adhesive itself is excellent and feels properly strong. My only slight battle was with the backing tape. Getting that off was considerably harder than sticking the actual thing on. Fingernails, scissors and a knife were all drafted in at various points, and I did begin to wonder whether 3M had designed the backing as some sort of small dexterity test. That said, once I finally won the argument with it, the tape performed perfectly. Five stars from me. Excellent product, strong hold, and the petrol cap is still exactly where it should be.

Honestly didn't think you could buy tape this sticky. I used it to fit a moulding back onto my mountain bike and....well, I stuck it on wonky on the first attempt. Needless to say when I tried to remove it seconds later I had a major problem 🤦. Do not use if you intend to remove what ever you're sticking.

As good as it gets. Very strong and sturdy. Application is KEY, you need to apply a recommended amount for pressure. Watch on YouTube

Works I’ve used it to resecure my ring door bell, Seem thinner than I thought but verry sticky,, was half the with of ring doorbell so two strips worked well, lotts left good size, was easy to use , if a bit tricky to peal outer strip ( need nails)

This 3M 4950 heavy-duty tape is an okay product that provides a decent hold. At 1.1mm thick, it cushions slight surface unevenness well, making it fine for basic mounting tasks around the house. It isn't an instant bond, so you do need to press firmly and let it cure for a while, but once set, it handles lightweight accessories completely fine.

This is proper 3M VHB 5925 foam tape and it lives up to the reputation. Bond strength is excellent on clean surfaces and it holds up well in heat. Official ratings show long-term resistance to 200°F with short-term spikes higher than that, so summer sun or warm walls are not a problem. I have used it for wall mounting and similar jobs where screws were not ideal. Once it sets it is very difficult to remove cleanly, which is exactly what you want for permanent installs. The main trade-off is the 0.025 inch thickness. It adds noticeable bulk compared to thinner tapes, so measure your clearances first. That thickness is also what gives it the gap-filling and vibration resistance that thinner tapes lack. If you need maximum holding power and can accept the extra height, this is one of the better consumer options available.
