Works well on dark hair
One of my favorite bleaches. I’ve used this on myself and all four of my kids and we are all brunettes. One try it lightens, two applications and it’s bleach blonde. We do it all in one day.

Great hair bleach
One of the best, and strongest hair bleaches I've used. Has a mixing cup, gloves and an application brush. Shipping was on time. I'm glad they had them in stock.

Really effective for self bleaching
Black with short dark hair. Worked perfectly, lightest my hair has ever been. Wasn’t expecting much but made it very convenient to self bleach my hair without much hassle. Probably gonna stick with this.

Super cool!
loved it, but had to bleach my hair twice and i was already a natural blond. overall im very happy with how my hair turned out but i had to buy 2 kits to get it as white as i wanted it, i was going for platinum blond. the kit was easy to use since id never done this before. other than the fact i needed 2 boxes, i loved this kit.

First time hair bleacher - great experience!
First time hair bleacher! My hair is medium length (a few inches below my collar bone) and was dyed a mix of dark brown and blue. Blue is very easy to remove, but dark brown is not. I wanted to change my hair back to its original color (strawberry blonde) so obviously needed to bleach it. I watched Brad Mondo's youtube video that broke down the very basics of hair bleaching and coloring (which does NOT replace a stylist's professional experience and years of studying color theory) so I could get an idea of what to do and what not to do so I don't completely ruin my hair. I chose this product because it is a complete kit including 30 volume developer, gloves, cap to lock in that heat, and the mixing bowl and brush. I chose to buy 4 packs because I assumed it would take 2 boxes to liberally apply to my full head of thicker hair for one application and also decided I should buy enough for 2 applications (common for dark brown hair dye). It was the perfect amount. At a salon this amount of bleaching would be like $250-400 and 3-4 hours in a chair on top of the time and money it would take to dye your hair afterward. With this product and my boyfriend's help, it only cost me $40 to bleach my hair and removed 98.54% of the dye. The tiny amount leftover was from the super dark brown dye that turned reddish slightly and worked for coloring my hair afterward. My virgin roots that had no color were white after one application and 30 min. I did 2 applications each for max of 50 min. A few tips: Apply to ends first then roots. Get a friend's help to make sure you don't miss spots (I'm terrible when it comes to the back of my head so my bf's help was absolutely necessary. Some people can do without and idk how they do it). Watch Brad Mondo's youtube video on bleaching and dying hair. It was posted March/April of 2020 and is about 20 minutes of your time well spent. Your hair will be dry - definitely invest in a conditioning hair mask and a leave in conditioner to help restore moisture to your hair after bleaching and dying. Plan your evening around it. This is time consuming but considering how much money I saved by doing it myself, I'm much happier than if I had gone to the salon. It will heat up while sitting under that cap - that's normal and nothing to worry about. Don't wash your hair for a couple days before or else bleaching will burn. I hope this helps you in your hair-venture and let's you really rock out your true self in whatever color you love.

I much prefer the 30 volume kit...
EDIT 3/3/14: Because I'm a noob at hair dye, I reviewed this product a while ago, wrongly assuming I was reviewing the 30 volume Manic Panic bleach kit. I have since ACTUALLY used the 40 volume one, which I will now write a review of here. The review that follows is the correct review for this product, and the review below the break is actually meant for the 30 volume. So last year when I used the 30 volume kit, I dyed my ends into a gradient. I started with mostly thick, straight, medium-dark brown hair. I left different parts of my hair in the bleach for 20, 40, and 60 minutes. The parts that were in bleach for 20 minutes turned a light brown and the parts that were covered for the longest turned a nice medium-light blonde color. This was perfect for then adding some Manic Panic dye and being left with a cool colorful ombre/dip dye look. This year, I went for something similar, but covered more of my hair. Here's what the 40 volume kit did that the 30 volume did not: - It burned. The moment I got it on my neck or face or arm (despite wearing gloves and attempting to be very careful) it burned and I had to call someone in to help me wipe it off. - It damaged my hair. When I dyed my hair last year there was almost no harmful effect, but this year after washing the bleach out my hair was very stiff and straw-like. And I almost never use heat on my hair and use very few products. A few conditions later and it's looking mostly normal, but I wasn't happy about this because... - It didn't lighten nearly as much as the 30 volume kit did. The ends of my hair ended up covered in bleach for 75 minutes (they say for dark brown hair you can go up to 90) and the parts that were covered for the shortest amount of time had it in for about 30 minutes. My hair now goes from my natural dark brown, to a medium brown, to a lighter brown, to a dark brassy blonde color. I'm not extremely happy about how light it got, but because of the way it damaged my hair, I'm scared to re-lighten anytime soon. I know some of this can be attributed to the fact that it is a 40 volume kit and therefore I should have expected the harsh results. But I wasn't pleased with the burning and the damage... when it didn't even lighten my hair all that much! I should've done better research and done 1 or 2 lightening steps with a 20 or 30 volume instead of jumping right in with the 40 volume. Some redeeming points: the shade my hair is makes for a nice ombre to walk around in. It's definitely more subtle than if I had bleached my ends super light. So that's nice, at least. But not great for what my purpose was, which was to later add colored dyes. ----- I decided on a whim to do a self-done dip-dye/ombre color on my hair, and everyone recommended I use Manic Panic. I used this bleach kit on my hair, and not only did it come out the way I wanted it to, but it was pretty easy to use. The kit comes with everything you'll need -- a little tub for mixing and applying, a brush, thin plastic gloves, and the product itself. The gloves felt pretty cheap and after my third or fourth layer of bleach (since I was doing ombre) they started to break, but they held up pretty well until then. I'll echo what others have said in that if you're planning to dye your entire head of hair, and you have a lot of hair, you might want to get two of these bleach kits. I ran out sooner than I thought I would. In the end, the parts of my hair that were covered in the bleach for a total of about an hour turned a yellow blonde color (my original color is a dark brown) and the parts that were covered in the bleach for about 20 minutes turned a light brown. It made for a really great gradient. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product, and will definitely use it again if I ever plan on bleaching my hair again :)

Order more than one box
Have tried 1 million different bleachers and really liked this one although I had to get two boxes and that still wasn’t enough, but does work really good

Genial
