Cat6A Tool Free RJ45 Connector UTP Field Termination Modular Plug for 23-26 AWG Unshielded Ethernet Cable (Black, 12 Pack)

I was struggling to terminate my Cat6a cables in my new home - I tried punchdown connectors, Cat6a crimp and passthrough from multiple brands, literally 7 or 8 different tries. I was about to hire someone to come terminate for me OR buy another brand of tool free connectors for 3x what this costs but I tried this first. What a difference! Every single one terminated beautifully. I wouldn't say it's tool free - here is my process: cut cable cleanly, strip outer jacket, slide on the gland and back part of the connector, separate wires and thread the bottom ones (orange and green) into the holes in the connector, going past the end. Then lightly press the brown and blue wires into place. Then use snips to cut each wire at the end of the connector they're in and finally use GOOD linesman pliers to clamp it down and slide the back part of the connector and screw on the gland. Literally done in 3-5 mins.

These work like a charm and are really easy to use...........I replaced all my RJ connectors with these.

Took a while to crimp it since it's my first time using shielded cat 6a. But overall better than others I've used.

These work but seriously just buy the pass thru connectors and crimper way faster and better, this is a hassle and the connection isn't very good.

Ok so first of all let's talk quality. These are nice, solid bits of hardware that will help you finish out some nice looking cables. Now, let's talk about "easy" and "tool free"- you still need wire cutters and strippers, so I'm not sure this really qualifies as tool free. I would go as far as to guess that most people keep their punch down tool in the same tool bag as their wire strippers so, I'm not sure if there's really an advantage there. Making ethernet cables is annoying no matter how you slice it, even with these connectors its still tedious work, especially if you have big hands. Where these connectors do provide an advantage is that they are more tolerant of various thicknesses of cable. Not all ethernet cables are the same thickness, even in the same category, due to both the gauge of the individual conductors and the thickness of the sheathing, and typical cheap connectors and strain relief must be the right size. The other thing to consider about these connectors is that they are much longer than the typical cheap plastic connector. This makes for a nice easy to grip connector on one hand, but may present an issue in tight spaces. Nice that they come in different colors so you can match cable sheathing and to help you trace cables in cluttered spaces!
