I've been running a Marantz Cinema 60 for a couple of years and have burnt the amplifier section up twice now, repaired under warranty. The Cinema 60 is rated at 100w per channel into 2 channels driven, or 70 watts x 7 channels driven. Turn it up to reference levels, 105-108 dB, and the amplifier would shut off from thermal protection. Not so with the HTA 7200. It will easily and cleanly drive my speakers 9 dB higher than the Marantz receiver can. Now I use the Cinema 60 as a pre-amp and let the Nero 7200 do all of the heavy lifting. Speaking of heavy lifting, the Nero 7200 is 64.2 lbs. It is twice as heavy as the Cinema 60 receiver + amplifier. It is truly a beast and the sound quality is no less than when I was using the Cinema 60 + integrated amplifier. Lots of clean power. No perceptible distortion or SNR background noise. No hot chassis or thermal shutdown after 1+ hours of music at high listening levels, just at the verge of perceptible distortion.
