I bought this to replace a Klutch brand 375i that I had for years that finally quit working. I don't use plasma a lot, usually for cutting holes for Super 60 and other similar trailer lights that use grommets. For that job it works awesome. Especially for the $170 I paid for it. It will cut 1/2" steel decently on 220v. I did cut some 3/4" steel just to see, it did cut it, but it would take a decent amount of clean up before welding. My go to is a corded metabo grinder with 6" cut off wheels, that works fast and no grinding needed after. For circle or odd shape cuts in 3/8" or thinner, this machine works awesome for me. It is clearly not intended for a business making trailers all day. But for a hobbiest like me...I'm happy with it. I wouldn't want to rely on it to make a living though.

I’ve been using the SSIMDER Plasma Cutter in my home workshop for a while now, and I have to say, it’s been a solid addition to my collection of tools. As someone who occasionally works with metal, I was looking for a reasonably priced plasma cutter that could handle a variety of tasks without breaking the bank. This cutter fits the bill perfectly, offering both versatility and efficiency, making it a great option for hobbyists or DIY enthusiasts like myself. One of the greatest features for me is the dual voltage capability, which gives you the flexibility to work with either 110V or 220V outlets. While I typically use it with my larger compressor that’s connected to 240V, it’s nice to know that I can take it to a smaller setup if needed and still get the job done. Just a heads-up, though, I would recommend using it on a 20-amp circuit at a minimum to avoid any potential issues, especially when operating on 110V. The plasma cutter is lightweight and portable, which is great when you need to move it around your workspace. Even though it’s not designed for industrial use, it performs exceptionally well in my home workshop. It cuts through most steel up to half an inch with ease and precision. The non-contact pilot arc feature is a real advantage, allowing me to work on rough and rusty surfaces without losing the arc, something that’s often a hassle with other cutters. The controls are responsive, and I appreciate the ability to adjust both voltage and current output to suit my needs. That said, there are a few minor drawbacks. The ground clamp isn’t the highest quality, and I wouldn’t expect it to hold up to heavy industrial use, but for my home projects, it gets the job done. The machine is very reasonably priced for the features it offers, and I believe it’s an excellent value for anyone who needs a plasma cutter for occasional use. In conclusion, the SSIMDER Plasma Cutter is a great choice for anyone looking for an affordable, portable, and efficient plasma cutter for light to medium-duty tasks. It’s easy to use, handles rough surfaces well, and delivers a clean cut without much hassle. For the price, it’s hard to beat.
