Remember the position of the center of the main chip. Orient the heatsink with the short side towards the ethernet and the long side towards the IR sensor. Push down on the position of the center of the main chip to entire full contact. Push in the retainers. - MAKE SURE TO CHECK ORIENTATION AND BALANCE: Align the heatsink with the board first to make sure that it covers all the components on the board. Make sure to push down on the center of the main SoC chip. If you push down on the edge, the heatsink could be slanted and not cool effectively. Run a CPU benchmark and run "cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp" to verify temperature. It was a "snap" to install and fit perfectly.The heatsink covers the CPU and the half of the memory on the top of the PCB. I don't think the memory really needs any sort of cooling, so this just gives it more space for the heat to spread. It lowers the CPU temp by about 20c while under high load.The only issue is that you have to install it the right way. It will fit either way, but will not totally cover the hatsink in the wrong direction.The other thing I don't like is that the sticky pad covers the entire bottom of the heatsink. It would have been better if it had been a couple smaller pads that matched. I bought 2 of these and they have a good fit and finish, with a mildly adhesive thermal paste on the underside to keep it in place, in addition to the 2 corner spring-loaded clips.
