Samsonite Lite-Shock - Spinner S, Cabin Luggage, 55 cm, 36 L, Brown (Sand)

This case is the perfect size for 1-2 weeks. It’s super lightweight and easy to pack. The materials feel strong and of good quality. I used for 11 days in Japan and travelled between a few internal destinations. The case went in/on all the train luggage racks no problem. The handle would have been better with two connecting bars, as it does twist a bit sometimes but I guess that might ruin the aesthetics and really not a big issue. When it’s not packed you can easily lift with one finger. Very happy with purchase, and would highly recommend.

I've now bought the 81cm, 73cm and 69cm cases. I've used Samsonite for about 10 years previously and love the robustness - and the fact that if something breaks, they fix it (twice now).I upgraded to these because of weight. I live by two travel luggage rules. 1) If you can't fit it into one case (airline weight allowance considered), you're doing something wrong. 2) Obeying rule 1, it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!So in short I travel "light" but not light. So many evenings before a trip I've weight my case and had to shave some weight off or wonder "How much leeway do they give you at check-in? Is 10% too much?). I can honestly say, these things are ridiculously light. I literally have supermarket bags for life that are heavier (empty)! OK I've exaggerated there but not by much. Seriously though, since owning these, I've never had that pre-flight dilemma over what to dump.If you're a regular traveller these are for you. They're bloody expensive if you're not, but even then, if money is no object, go for it. Every now and then you take a chance and buy something functional that exceeds expectations, and this/these are one of them.Light and worryingly flexible but seemingly very robust. They zoom round the airport with the turning circle of a London taxi. After 4 long haul and 3 short haul trips in less than a year, they're surprisingly pristine. Yes they're expensive and for many would not represent value for money. For me, they just about deliver that too. Especially when I recall the time I was charged £50 by Tui for being 1.2kg over my allowance.

This is the lightest and easiest case I have owned. I’ve struggled to use the lock on it but have put a small lock myself, thought it felt flimsy but it is not. Because it’s light you can fit more clothes in the case, it might be a bit more expensive than other cases but in my opinion it’s well worth it.

An excellent lightweight suitcase. It's has a semi-hardshell case, flexible but resistant. Simple design with a zip closure and one interior compartment. Good quality wheels and handle. So far it has stood up well to the rigour of baggage handlers.

Very light suitcase.But after 3 journeys (1 per year) the hinge has broken - like all of the other 1 or 2 star reviews here.Contacted samsonite and mentioned that there are too many instances of this problem being mentioned on Amazon (and the samsonite website). However, they refuse to budge and insist I pay for the return of their dodgy product to be inspected by them to decide if it is their fault or not!From reading these other reviews, I can predict that samsonite will determine that it was caused by a 3rd Party therefore they are not liable (even though they couldn’t produce a suitcase that can withstand 3rd Party handling)Pity.It is a very light and spacious suitcase.Expensive too. too expensivEBadly designed/engineered/manufactured if it can’t withstand some airline jostling!

Bit Expensive, but very light and Manoeuvrable. Probably not the strongest or most durable. Ideal for holidays when you want to make the most of your baggage allowance.

Rubber bending is torn in 1st voyage itself. The wheels are not performing well when weight is not more then 23kg.

Wer viel reist, kennt das Problem: Man möchte maximal viel einpacken, scheitert aber oft schon am Eigengewicht des Koffers. Der Samsonite Lite-Shock in der XL-Version ist die absolute Lösung für dieses Problem. Ich habe den Koffer nun auf mehreren Langstreckenflügen intensiv getestet und bin schlichtweg begeistert.Gewicht & Material (Curv-Technologie):Es ist fast schon surreal, wenn man diesen riesigen XL-Koffer das erste Mal anhebt. Mit gerade einmal rund 2,8 kg Eigengewicht ist er für seine stattliche Größe (81 cm Höhe, über 120 Liter Volumen) unverschämt leicht. Das Geheimnis ist das Curv-Material: Es ist extrem dünn, wirkt im ersten Moment fast flexibel, ist aber genau dadurch unglaublich robust. Wo andere Hartschalenkoffer bei grober Behandlung am Flughafen reißen oder splittern, gibt die Schale des Lite-Shock elastisch nach und federt Stöße einfach ab.Reisekomfort & Rollen:Die vier Doppelrollen (Spinner) laufen absolut butterweich, flüsterleise und lassen sich selbst bei maximaler Beladung (problemlos über 23 kg) mühelos mit nur einem Finger manövrieren. Das Ziehen oder Schieben an Flughäfen oder auf unebenem Pflaster ist ein Traum. Auch das Monotube-Gestänge (die einzelne Teleskopstange) ist stabil und lässt sich perfekt auf die Körpergröße einstellen.Innenraum & Sicherheit:Der Innenraum ist klassisch und effizient aufgeteilt. Eine Seite wird mit einer Netztrennwand per Reißverschluss geschlossen, auf der anderen Seite halten Kreuzpackgurte die Kleidung an Ort und Stelle. Das integrierte dreistellige TSA-Schloss schließt bündig mit der Schale ab, sodass es beim Transport nicht so leicht beschädigt werden kann. Zudem ist der Reißverschluss sehr robust und wasserabweisend vernäht.Fazit:Ja, der Samsonite Lite-Shock XL ist eine Investition. Aber wer einmal den Komfort erlebt hat, bei der Gepäckaufgabe wertvolle Kilos für den eigentlichen Inhalt gespart zu haben, will nie wieder ein schweres Modell besitzen. Er ist extrem langlebig, sieht futuristisch-elegant aus und hält selbst den härtesten Gepäckbändern stand.Die absolute Oberklasse unter den Reisekoffern – uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung!
