Yes, you can control lights by Smart Plug, but you will need to bypass sensor. To bypass sensor you need to connect power cord to opposite side of marked side of the LED bar with IR sensor (marked “Connect Power”). This way light can be controlled by the switch and dimmer (if you have one) or plug/unplug power supply.

The bar with sensor has to be the first in line and connected to the power supply. This bar controls the on/off and dimming functions of the entire chain of lights.

Yes, these lights will work with a wall dimmer, but you will need to get the DIMMABLE transformer from 110V to 12V DC ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DP2YHX5 ) because operating voltage is 12V DC. Also, you will need to bypass the sensor. To bypass the sensor you need to connect the power cord to the opposite side of marked side of the LED bar with sensor (marked “Connect Power”). This way light can be controlled by the switch and dimmer (if you have one) or plug/unplug power supply. We suggest that you contact licensed electrician for this type of installation.

Q: Can i wire them direct to a 12v power supply and not use the power adapter?

I agree with Thordar. The adapter supplied is rated 12 VDC, 1000 mA. But, it also has a male plug that plugs into a receptacle in the first LED section.
