Yes, it does. It fits all the super automatic Gaggia machines.

What does it filter? it could be an empty cartridge given 5 stars? filter certifications?

Mostly filters for taste & order. Filters chlorine, larger particulates and has anti-scale properties.

Depends on how much you use the machine. Machine will calculate the amount of water and schedule a change based on that. If the machine does not indicate when, We would recommend every 2-4 months.

Is it compatible for Gaggia Classic Pro?

I would avoid this item. Advertised as compatible but it is certainly not. It is too tall, the lid would not close. Fraudulent advertising through Amazon.
