TCL D1 Pro Palm Vein Smart Lock, Keyless Entry Door Lock, Upgraded Rechargeable Battery, Front Door Smart deadboalt, App Remote Control, Auto-Lock, Waterproof, Works with Alexa

I have had this Lock for over 4 month and and extreamly happy with the product. It was easy to operat and works every time unlocking the door with my palm. I use it with Alexa and it will open with my number code from anywhere in the house to let someone in at the front door. I love I when I go to bed and am not sure I locked the front door and instead of geting up and going to check the dooor I just say "Alexa lock the front, and Alexa saya," Locking, hang on" and then Alexa say to me "Locked" I am almost 80 and appreciate that option. Very quality look and feel to the unit and it fit my front door perfectly. Has a secure look and feel to it. Excellant product. Very very highly recomend it for a very quality and nice looking instaliation!

I had a fingerprint reader lock but both my son and wife have very faint fingerprints so can't reliably get the lock to work. It also won't read my print when my hands are wet. In my wife's case, her fingerprint is so bad that even top end readers on Apple and Samsung devices can't read it. This lock solves the problem, and it works reliably even with my 8 y.o. son's little palm. So yes, the palm reader works, and works surprisingly well. The rest of the lock is pretty standard smart lock stuff, with the built in Wi-Fi a nice touch. I saw several reviewers complain about the app, but I already use the Tuyab smart app for smart switches in my home, so I liked not having to install yet another app. I find the pairing and set up process pretty straightforward and simple. Notifications to my phone work without problems, but I wished the notification would say which palm was used to open the lock. Overall, if you want a touchless smart lock, and don't need additional features like cameras, this work really well at a very good price.

EDIT: I'm back here to say that I could not be happier with the customer service TCL provides. I had purchased my first unit and after a little while the Palm Reader stopped working. I had received an email from their support team and they proactively sent me a replacement to my surprise. It's rare nowadays that companies truly stand by their products and their reputation and I could not be more impressed. I purchased this new Smart Lock for our new home and it's incredible. I have 2 teenagers that kept losing their keys and this has made a huge different. Having the palm vein detector was the big differentiator against their competitors. I can be carrying groceries or other things and with a simple hand motion the door unlocks. We also have a house cleaner and just give her a code that's unique and no more issues. This thing has a lot of cool functions too that you can utilize. The battery lasts for a long time and pulling out the battery to charge is super easy. I have a portable charger that I use and never once had to remove the battery from the door lock making it more convenient. Great device for a very affordable price! you can't go wrong

Installation was very easy and straight forward. Good Lock but it exhibits WiFi issues like some other reviewers pointed out. I tried a replacement brand new lock in case I happened to have a defective one but the second lock exhibited the same issues as the first one. I tried on both Android and iPhone and the results were identical. I also tried both the Smart Life and the Tuya apps, same story. It's not a deal breaker, the lock works very well, the palm print option is great and it works every time I use it. Even though the app shows poor WiFi signal it does work remotely with very rare loss of WiFi altogether. I like the lock and I'm keeping it but it loses one star due to the issue described above. Update: 6/19/2025 The lock lost Palm recognition function and getting support from the manufacturer is all but impossible, so it basically worked ok for about 5 months. I tried deleting the saved palm prints and re-registering but it was impossible. Not sure I would buy it again,

This is a very cool lock that is functional and offers a lot of features. BUT, build quality is mediocre. The deadbolt seems flimsy and it is now slightly bent after less than a year of use. The lock gets stuck and doesn't open or lock properly all the time. I have to fiddle around with it a bit to get it to work properly. The app only worked for a month before it randomly stopped and I was never able to connect the lock to that app again. Install was easy enough and required no modifications to my current setup. But I would not recommend it to anyone because when I reached out to customer support for some answers, they ghosted me after one reply. It's disappointing because TCL is not just a small company with one product on the market. It's a well established brand and yet they can't stand behind their product. I'll be changing my lock to something else shorty. It's a solid DO NOT BUY from me.

After pairing the TCL D1 Pro Palm Vein Smart Lock with the Smart Life App it kept going offline and when I ran a network test from within the Smart Life App I would receive a message indicating that there was a “Poor Network Condition”. The user manual that came with the lock indicated that the support email address was [email protected], but no one ever responded to that address. I was able to get a response from TCL three days after sending an email to [email protected]. This response had many suggestions on how to check my network connection. After spending countless hours on trying to figure out what was wrong with my network, I determined that the problem was with the Smart Life App and had nothing to do with my network connection. I sent an email to Smart Life, but have not heard back. This is what I did to resolve the problem: I paired the lock with the Smart Life App, then I linked the lock to Alexa and then I deleted the Smart Life App. After doing that, the lock NEVER goes offline and I can control the lock from within the Alexa App. The two main reasons I bought this lock was because it has a rechargeable battery and it can be controlled via the Alexa App without a hub so I really did not need the Smart Life App. The only disadvantage of not being able to use the Smart Life App is not being able to see the status of the battery and not seeing the log of the lock's opening and closing times. TCL and Smart Life need to address this problem and come up with a solution.

Good lock but unable to use -- the 3rd party app it uses will not accept a long wifi password. App actually gives a message to change my wifi password to something shorter. Perhaps if this was my only device but i have roughly 100 smart devices, laptops, tablets and electronics connected. Changing my password for a useless 3rd party app makes zero sense given the time and effort that would entail. A separate TCL palm vein reader deadbolt lock on another door actually uses a different app and connects. And no, that other app does nor recognizes this lock for install! I foolishly assumed this lock would use the same app. Ridiculous.

I used to lose my keys a lot, and my wife got very frustrated. So, I decided to buy a keyless door lock. I found the TCL Smart Lock. It was easy to install and works very well. It has a palm vein scanner that is fast and cool. My wife was happy when we got it, and it helped a lot at home—no more losing keys! The lock has a long battery life, locks automatically, and I can control it from my phone or with Alexa. It is also waterproof and bit heavy which speaks about its build quality. Design looks rich. If you want a smart lock, I recommend this one. You will like it!
