Great safety switch
Used on a circular saw. I’ve seen a few reviews saying this switch is no good and you have to hold the on button down. The point of this switch is to turn off when the power is removed that way there is no danger of the equipment sparking into life as soon as it is plugged in. There is a solenoid which performs this function which will hold the on button down. One end of the solenoid is connected to one output terminal internally (diagram on switch) the other is brought to a small spade terminal adjacent to the other output terminal. To make the switch work connect these two terminals together. Or as pointed out by another reviewer you can take two wires from this point to a normally closed stop switch or interlock. This switch adds a layer of safety above that of a straight on off isolation switch which is a good thing because we all do stupid things. Well worth the £20 IMHO.

worked just fine !
Used this to repair a Milling Machine that had the exact same model number switch.Turns out that the exact same model number of switch may have different contact arrangements so make sure you get the right one. This one turned out to be very similar to the original switch and worked immediately in the milling machine.Physical dimensions and mounting holes were in the same place as the old switch. The old switch had a mushroom - had a latching emergency stop actuator that stuck out the front, this switch is different and I couldnt fit the actuator from the old switch ont the new one.But on the new switch the STOP button sticks out and the START button is recessed, so that slapping a hand against the switch immediately stops the machine.I'm happy that this is as safe as the old setup was.Low cost repair ! Very pleased.

Decent quality NVR mains ON/OFF switch
Very common fitment on Chinese built lathes and milling machines in the UK, this particular switch has the fifth connection which allows for the solenoid which latches the switch to be powered from other parts within the machine, like safety guards. It is a well made switch but I give a 4 star rating because the yellow surround moulding, through which the two fixing screws go, is not particularly rigid, almost polypropylene in nature, and this means if you are screwing it to a rigid chassis, and using the foam rubber sealing washer, the tightening of the screws tends to slightly bend the yellow part over the sealing washer. It would help if the sealing washer was less thick, but to be truthful, the yellow plastic is not rigid enough. Minor issue, it works well.
