A Much Forgotten War
Basically a south Korean propaganda film of the Korean conflict, but highly entertaining , and enjoyable to watch. this is made from the south Korean aspect with vey little of the UN involvement, except of the US assistance to this particular battle of providing "the latest in anti tank bazookas".The South Korean People were rightly proud of the sacrifices made by this band of students. Very nice to see Kim Yong IL mentioned , and this is a time frame in the 50's before UN troops were poured into the conflict, and the Chinese put 500,000 troops in ,and Mc Arthur was supreme commander with the British , Turkish , French, etc. ( President Truman's foreign policy has such a lot to answer for - didn't have the backbone to stand up to Stalin ,leaving us with the Cold War) , but that is an entirely different subject not covered in this movie, covered a lot by the film Mc Arthur Great viewing , I enjoyed it , and it shows exactly how important this war was to the people of Korea, and is still relevant today

The characters are good, neither side were made out to be good ...
I found this a very well made film. The action sequences are well done and realistic. The characters are good, neither side were made out to be good or bad, and there were weak and strong characters in both. My wife doesnt like this kind of movie but even she got drawn into it the film was so immersing and emotional. Picture and sound quality are excellent and there is a good selection of extras, I have not seen these yet so cannot comment on them. All in all a great film on a good disc.

Unmissable
Quite simply this is one of the great war films. A story that mirrors so many other films of boys having to grow up and become heroes. Nothing original in that .The battle scenes pull no punches. The emotions are raw. This film takes you by the throat and drags you in. Horrifying , mortifying and uplifting. Unmissable
