Standout chocolate notes for a capsule
I’ve tried many capsules and this one really stands out for its chocolate flavour. It’s a bit like a mocha—of course, not as chocolatey as a café drink made with syrup—but for a capsule coffee it’s impressively rich and satisfying. For me, it’s one of the best chocolate-leaning capsules I’ve tasted; highly recommended, especially with the small cup setting or a splash of milk.

The caramel notes are smooth and buttery
This is caramel done properly — refined, balanced, and unmistakably Lavazza. From the first pull, you’re greeted with a rich espresso base that hasn’t been sacrificed for sweetness. The caramel notes are smooth and buttery rather than cloying, complementing the coffee instead of drowning it. There’s a lovely crema for a pod coffee, and the aroma alone feels café-level. What really stands out is how grown-up the flavour is. No artificial aftertaste, no sickly finish — just a well-rounded espresso with a subtle caramel warmth that lingers pleasantly. It works beautifully as a straight espresso, but it’s equally impressive topped up as a lungo or paired with milk for a luxurious caramel latte. Lavazza have managed to strike that rare balance: indulgent without being gimmicky, flavoured without losing its coffee soul. A superb choice for anyone who wants something a little special from their Nespresso machine — this one absolutely earns a permanent place in the pod drawer

Nice taste
Good coffee, gives a good crema and the taste of the coffee is lovely. Don't get much of the caramel come through but it is nice overall.

Interesting flavour experiment, though not to everyone's taste.
This is very much a question of personal taste. Flavouring such quality Italian coffee might seem an odd decision for some, while for others, the concept of a blend of coffee and caramel may seem an attractive and worthy flavour mix. However, the flavour of these pods for me falls between two stools, as the hint of caramel is not overwhelming so the coffee remains strong and bitter, yet the concept of adding caramel flavour suggests a sweeter, toffee-like flavour, which just isn't there. One positive is that while the pods are are not compostable, they are aluminium, so but can be largely recycled once cleared of used coffee grounds. If they weren't on special offer, I don't think I would have tried them, as if I wanted caramel flavoured coffee, I would add real caramel or drop a toffee in, rather than compromise the taste with such an insipid flavouring. This is the first time I've been disappointed by Lavazza, but it's all a question of taste, so someone is bound to like it.

Disappointing
I’m a big Lavazza coffee drinker and have it frequently on subscribe and save, so I was very excited to find the flavoured coffee pods. I did have high hopes for this but unfortunately I’ll have to give it one star. There is no chocolate flavour in this at all, which is fine as I find with flavoured coffee that it’s more of an aroma. However, the smell is awful and there’s an artificial taste. Also, I'm finding quality issues with the pods across the Lavazza range time and time again, where they don’t pierce correctly so the coffee isn't extracted and I’m having to throw them away. This has happened on multiple occasions on two different machines and only ever with Lavazza and no other brands. It happened again with these pods which is disappointing considering the cost. I will, however, continue with the standard coffee pods as they’re good value for money (even if I’m having to throw away faulty pods), but the flavoured pods on neither tasty nor good value.
