East to put up and use, last a long time

The remote stopped working after a while...

Good for a few weeks and a few LEDS starting fail, especially blue. The fault started to get worse. I did think buying Philips would be a better option due the excess after install. I got that wrong. I will not buy Philips again. Now failed after 4 months.

The overall quality of this Philips light strip is I’d describe as very good for the price, I believe it was £19.99 when I purchased them. Of course their is clear differences from the much more expensive Philips hue line of light strips. These are controlled by an included remote control and cannot be controlled via your phone, tablet, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi like the full hue light strips can!. Importantly you need to make sure the remote receiver sensor that is connected to the end of light strip is visible and in line or sight with the remote. For instance if you installed these under a bed you may have to bend under the bed each time to turn them on and off or change the colour etc, which could be frustrating. Importantly the light strip doesn’t quite do whats shown on the product box and listing, specifically it doesn’t change colour in gradually along the length of the light strip, as in it doesn’t go from red at one end to green in the next segment etc. It instead changes from colour to colour all at the same time. For example the whole length of the light strip changes from say blue to green and red at once. You can select the speed of quickly each effect transitions on the remote from very fast to very slow. in terms of RGB lighting effects!. The colour reproduction seems very accurate for the cost of the item. The backing adhesive is 3M which for this product and from previous experience has always been very good and stuck the light strips very well to whichever surface you select to apply these too. It’s very important to clean whichever surface you are intending to stick these onto. As any dust or debris will stick to the light strip adhesive and not the actual surface say a set of draws. Meaning the light strip will likely fall off. I use a damp cloth which usually works well. Overall I think these light strips are great for the price they are currently at. If you don’t mind using the remote and not having control via your phone I would recommend them. I have given four stars as the light strip does change colours exactly as depicted on the product listing. But yes overall very good and bright for the price.

cheap and works great to use with an alexa plug

The light is amazing as it is. Strong and really pleasant light as usual with philips. However, the remote control is pretty bad. I bought 2 both of them is intermittent. Sometimes works sometimes not. Hence the 3 star.

I’ve a few Philips lighting products and I’ve been very happy with them. My mum took a shine to them but at almost 90 she doesn’t have a smart phone and was looking for something more straightforward so this strip fit the bill perfectly. The remote is excellent. It’s straightforward and very easy for her to use and select from the great colour range, dim them, and choose from some really gorgeous scenes and the speed with which the colours change. The colours are strong and vibrant and the only gripe I have is that you really need to point the remote at the controller and be quite close. The strip can be cut to size and the adhesive seems quite good so should hopefully hold well. If I experience any issues I will update my review but at this point I see no reason why this lighting strip wouldn’t last well, my mum is over the moon with them, and wants to place an order for another set, and quite honestly and I’m sure she won’t mind me saying that if she can manage to control them anyone can. They are very fairly priced in my opinion, throw tons of colour onto the walls and there’s no problem with flicker or glare. I hope you find my review helpful.
