This is it!! Where has this thing been all my life??!! ❤️
Long but worth the read to know how to get your cats to use it. I chose this automatic litter box because of the open top. I have a male sphynx who has a long body and weighs 10 lbs and I also have a small female sphynx who weighs 6 pounds. My male does this crazy looking thing where he stands up on his hind legs and holds onto the side and pees. I had a feeling the enclosed litter robot might not work for him. I’m using the arm and hammer hard ball litter in this and it works wonderfully. The smell of this litter is amazing!! My whole room smells nice. Sphynx cats eat more than other cats and they are stinky when they poop! They can clear a room! The only time I smell the box is while they’re pooping and I never smell it again. I have this box set to turn over the poop to make sure it’s coated good and then clean and dump it 7 minutes after they get out! It’s perfect timing for my cats. It gives it time to clump and then dump. When I first started setting it up which is a breeze to do btw, my male kept jumping in it like it was a box to play in. I had to remove him 3 times to finish. I activated it to level the litter and he was fascinated with the movement and watched it. I removed their old breeze box completely out of sight and placed this new one in the exact same spot that the old box was. This is gross and graphic but it’s how you need to do it: The way you get them to use it is, you take a decent sized, coated with old cat litter turd out of your old box, you can use a glove, but I just used a few paper towels and picked the biggest one out before throwing the old box away. It was pretty dried so it broke up into 3 pieces when I went to put it in the new litter which worked out because I planted and slightly buried with the tops still showing slightly in 3 places spaced out in the new litter box. Make sure your new box here is set to manual instead of automatic so that it doesn’t dump your turds you just planted right away. If you have multiple cats, you can set it back to automatic AFTER ALL your cats have done their business. My male sniffed and quickly realized that this is not a box to play in but a box to do his business. He cautiously climbed up in it and scratched around and finally positioned himself which I took a picture of. My female was sleeping at the time, so she hadn’t had a chance to notice the new box yet, so the old turds and his business he just did was left in there. When she woke up, she went to the area and just stood there and looked at it for a couple of minutes but then she started smelling and inched closer to get a better whiff and check it out. Now, she’s pretty tiny so when she went to climb in, she struggled a little because it’s taller than what she’s used to. I need to find a small step but I haven’t found one yet that I can place in front of it on the mat to help her. I left her alone tho and didn’t help her because she was in the mood to use the box so I didn’t want to distract her or have her associate having to go with any disruptions so I let her struggle and pull herself up in there. She did the same thing he did, smelled for awhile and scratched around a bit and then she peed. I let her take her time getting out and go on about her business and then I turned the automatic on a few minutes later. Both cats just watched it move and it was very quiet so I didn’t bother them at all. They have used it every time like normal since and that was last Friday when I got it. I decided to check the drawer 4 days later and it was time to take the bag out and put a new one. Just DON’T open the drawer until you’re ready to change it because, it’s stinky when you open it. The drawer is sealed very well though and contains the smell so you only smell it when you open it. I’ve never smelled it at all before when walking by the box. I decided every 4 days was a good time frame to check and change the bag for my two cats so I set a 4 day reminder in the app. I love how you can just cinch it up and throw it away and the bags aren’t cheap. They are heavy duty! God!! That’s so easy and quick! I love it!! I may change litter but I love the smell of this one so much that I don’t want to. My male is a wild man getting out after he does his business. I guess he feels so good and light that he just barrels out of there so he flings. The mat is great though! I just fold it up a little on the sides once a day and dump it back in the box. I put another rug on the other side of the mat to catch anything in case he jumps out and over which he almost always does. That is working well. I was a little nervous about making this investment but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for my cats and sooo worth it! I’ll never go back to sifting turds out everyday again!

A Game Changer
I LOVE this litter box! In the week that I have had it set up it has already improved my and my furry family’s lives and home in many ways. I have a young cat and an elder cat. I took the advice from other reviews and placed some of the used litter from the previous litter box into the automatic cleaning box. The youngest took to it quickly, within an hour. The eldest took several days to actually use the box. Thanks to the app I saw that he was checking it out but not actually using it - leaving after barely stepping in. The box is quite tall so I bought an adjustable step and I think it made the box more approachable for them. 1. No smell- all poo is covered in litter and swept into the holding compartment 7 minutes later (you can set the amount of time you want the box the wait between your cat exiting and the cleaning to begin.) 2. Super quiet. Like, seriously quiet. 3. The box is always clean and ready to use free from the other cats leavings. This has stopped the elder cat from going outside the box. Despite having multiple litter boxes, he did not seem to like to share. 4. No more finding the dog’s forbidden ‘treats’ on the floor when I return from work. If you have a sneaky dog living with you then you know what I’m referring to. 4. No more barriers, gates, and mazes around the cat box to keep our beloved sneaky dog away from the litter box. This has given me such joy because now my home looks much better. 5. It saves me time, hassle, and feeling badly about forgetting to clean the litter boxes if I forgot to scoop the regular boxes before rushing to work or when I’m working late. 6. The motion sensors work perfectly! Such relief knowing that the cats are safe. It stops cleaning immediately if they approach it. 6. I have since bought a second automatic litter box but a different brand that was on sale. It offers all the same features however it is not as great as this box. This one is quieter and I feel it is safer while in cleaning mode. It is enough difference that had I seen the difference before hand, I would have spent the additional $100+ and bought another of this brand.

Not worth it.
New (7 months): This is such a glitchy machine. Just look at the support group on Facebook. Recently, mine and apparently many others’ has started giving a “bin full” error despite the bin being empty, sensors being clean, bag smoothed out, etc. Support is useless and won’t provide a useful solution. I am a week into back and forth emails, to no avail. There is no way to hard reset this thing. So it’s useless because the programming is bad. On the day-to-day side, the liner is hard to clean. Mine has litter cemented to it. It’s otherwise in fine condition. I feel like a hard plastic liner would be just fine instead of this flimsy silicone. It works well enough for old style litter boxes. It’s a pain to get balanced just right so it won’t dump litter. The weighing feature is useless if you have cats of similar weights, and it sometimes gives totally off-kilter weights. There isn’t a way to view cat data over time, so it’s more novelty than health monitoring. You can see use throughout the day but it’s not graphed or anything to show trends. I’m just going to get the original Litter Robot I think. The physical design of this is great, but the programming and support are abysmal. Old: I have four cats. This is a lifesaver. Very pleased. Just wish the waste drawer were redesigned a little bit so the bag feels more securely tucked in. - The title was basically my biggest concern buying one of these: will my jumbo children fit? And they do! I have one maine coon-looking rescue mix (16lbs lean and super long/tall) and one that’s just lorge (16lbs fat but also long and tall). I’ll admit it’s not the same as the massive traditional litter pan I have as their backup, but this does cut down on the litter labor by a lot. If I go a day without cleaning the old pan, they’ll happily use the Neakasa because it’s clean all the time. My smaller/normal sized cats took to it without issue. One was a bit nervous, but I just topped the Neakasa off with some of the litter from the old pan. It brought the familiar stank to the new pan, and now everyone’s using it. On the note of cleaning, I love how the schedule can be adjusted. My cats tend to potty one after the other; it is a family affair to them. So I set the self-cleaning to occur 30 minutes after a cat exits. My one semi-gripe would be the waste drawer. The waste tends to pile up on one side, so it’ll alert as full when it’s really not. Just shake it and it’s fine another couple cycles. Personally, I’d like it if the drawer were a little deeper, as there’s plenty of clearance with the legs in place. The rim is its biggest pain point; it’s a grippy rubber strip that the bag folds over, and it’s a little awkward to handle. I’m always nervous putting the drawer back in that the bag is getting pushed off the rim. It would help if the bag were more recessed into the rim of the drawer, with the slider edges set above the bag attachment. Or maybe a clip on the far end to hold that more securely. I may play with it and see if I can easily DIY something there. Calibrating was hard because I couldn’t really see the measurement lines on the inside of the machine to measure out 100% capacity. But I improvised and it works. The app is not especially well translated, but it does the job and tracks usage very nicely. There are a couple instances every day or two where it seems to measure a cat weighing only a few pounds using the box, which is much smaller than any of mine. I assume it’s just the cats only going half inside to check it out though. They’re fascinated whenever the clean cycle runs. No major complaints, though. It makes my life easier and accommodates my big babies.

Generally pretty great, but room for improvement
Generally great with a few features which could use improvement. First, the amount of litter our cats fling around, even with the $50 pedestal and honeycomb mat, is enough that I still have to sweep the area twice per day. I'd kill for a built-in splash-shield which automatically emptied to the waste bin beneath, which should be possible with the current design. I know you can pay for some added attachment but after the $50 pedestal did nothing, there's no way. There's also not a ton of space for them to move around in there, relative to the machine's ginormous footprint, so maybe improvement on that front would help? Second, you have to manually reconnect the machine every time your wireless internet hiccups. The machine itself cannot remember the network name and password to keep checking to see when they come back online, you have to take your phone to the machine, select the network on your phone, and punch in your 25-character secure randomized password again every. single. time. IT departments wonder why all of use easy passwords... this machine is why. This also is something they should be able to fix on all extant units with a software patch. Third, I really shouldn't need a connected phone for the litterbox to work. I was initially fooled by the hardware buttons, believing I could get this thing to level, calibrate, etc. without a company tracking all my data. I have yet to get a single button (apart from "power") to work without my phone's involvement. Last, I'm not sure if it can be helped, but it was a BEAST to assemble (because some of the pieces are kinda heavy or unwieldy, not because of complexity) and carry to its place. If it were my 70+ y.o. mom doing this, I'd know I would need to be there for set-up and come by multiple times a month to make sure it was filled and washed for her. So, it's automatic but insufficient for a person who is already physically limited. Other than that, it was easy to assemble out of the box, easy to disassemble for cleaning, and means we have totally clean litter at all times if it's emptied every other day and washed every other week... even with three cats! I am allergic to cats and just about all cat litters, so it was HUGE deal for me to limit my exposure to that room and for everything to be kept sealed away in a trash bag within minutes. I don't have to put my face near it anymore! If you have an older or less healthy cat, I also imagine the app tracking + a health-monitoring litter would be a huge weight lifted, mentally. No smell so far, but we do have a lot of house plants nearby, which helps. If I only needed this to reduce frequency of cleaning or limit odor, I'd go for it. TL;DR - So far, pretty great. Although, if I'd already had a working system I'd probably wait for the M1.1 or 2.0.

Easy to set up and use. Works for our 2 kitten household.
Overall, the machine is very easy to assemble and sync with wifi along the associated app. Our older kittens (2 of them, both less than a year) took to it well. There's no apparent urine leakage. The cats are a bit messy with digging when using it, so litter does get sprayed out a bit (it comes with a mat and it does help somewhat). I have found it very sensitive to determining if a cat is there and will not level or clean, but I do have it on manual rather than scheduled cleaning since the kittens are very curious about it when it beeps and starts to move. It does an impressive job of getting solids and urine clumped waste into the lower bin/tray. There are some very small pieces that don't make it since they move through the sieve meant to catch clean litter - this is not a huge deal. The one thing I don't like is that since the waste is dumped into the back of the lower bin/tray it sort of "stacks up" there and has to be redistributed evenly or it throws an error saying the bin is full. It's not a huge deal... you sort of just slide the bin out and shake it back and forth a bit and the clumps of waste level out. Emptying is easy. Odor control is OK. It's never going to smell like a bed of roses, but it is a bit better than an open, old fashioned box. The app is fairly straightforward (I use it exclusively as opposed to the buttons on the machine itself). The cat sensor by weight is generally OK, but with growing kittens, I am constantly going into the app to increase/adjust each cat's weight so it is accurate in telling me which cat is visiting. This is much more of a result of cats growing up and adding weight vs anything wrong with the machine or the app. Just FYI for those with little ones. Overall I am happy with the purchase and cannot see myself going back to a "manual" litter box. Recommended.

Perfect. Worth every penny, even their bags.
UPDATE: it started to say the bag wasn’t in place and than all heck broke loose and all the lights started flashing and it wouldn’t clean. I’m on day 5 of no litter box (this one) it replaced about 6/7 of my litter boxes so this is a pain in the butt. BUT customer service was very quick to answer and send me over the broken part to replace. We will see how fast it comes. Still five stars, just a little annoyed at myself for removing so many normal litter boxes and only counting on an electric one. Only took two days to receive new bottom replacement piece so that was wonderful. Customer service is great and I will still be buying another one but I will be keeping a few litter boxes still. ORIGINAL: I have ten cats. So I have ten litter boxes that I clean twice a day. I’ve researching these for a while now and came to the conclusion that this is the best of the best for my cats. The Prime day deal on this was way too amazing to pass up. My cats took to it immediately. They aren’t even touching their normal ones anymore. So I just keep up with the litter which I add some every morning and switch the bag as well every morning. I could go a day or two longer without switching I’m sure but I have no interest in the smell and I have enough cats that luckily I’m not wasting bags. There is zero smell. I ordered a shark pet odor air purifier (again CRAZY deal on that too!), it hasn’t showed up yet and honestly I’m not even worried about it. The litter boxes are up stairs in a room with ventilation and this box is under the stairs in a play closet set up for the cats, which is in my living room (I thought for sure I’d be moving it upstairs to the litter box room because I can not stand the smell of litter) and it doesn’t smell. I also use Tidy Cats free & clean. Best litter I have ever used. You literally can not tell I have cats. So that litter with this box is top notch. I will be eventually ordering two more. I forgot to add that the app is really great too. It will let you know if there is enough litter in the box. How full the litter bin is. You can set it up to your liking. It tells you how long your cat was in there for and how much you cat weighs You can make a profile for each cat so it tracks their potty habits. I have too many cats to sit here and set that up. ****Update after three days of owning this, all 10 cats pretty much only use this. With 10 cats I change the bin every 24 hrs because it is full. As stated above, I hope to eventually purchase at least two more. Update***** it’s now next month. And yes, I am dedicated to letting people know what’s up lol. This is the best. I take it apart once a month to give it a good scrub. The things where all the litter goes, those unscrew so that you can get a great clean on this thing. Also as it’s cleaning the box, I like to take a rag to it as it’s cleaning itself because I’ve noticed ‘stuff’ can get on it. I’m still obsessed. As are my cats. I’ve been able to remove five normal litter boxes from upstairs. They barely use the five up there anymore. They’re OBSESSED with this box. I really need to get another one. Worth absolutely every single penny and could not possibly be a happier 10 kittie owner household. UPDATE: I’ve had this for a few months now and it is amazing. I take it apart and wash it twice a month, I change the bag everyday (I have to with so many) and still no smell. I never had to move the litter box from the main floor because I can’t smell it. My cats all still love it. I do recommend only using their bags. I tried a garbage bag when I ran out and you can then smell the dirty litter. So their bags are worth every penny in my opinion. I still plan to purchase two more in the future.

Amazing for about 3 Months
After weeks of watching video reviews, I decided on this litter box over the Litter Robot 4. It worked beautifully at first. Did exactly what I needed for my 3 cats, very easy to empty and to deep clean. One of the reasons I chose this one was because of the ease of cleaning. After a little over 3 months, an error started about once a week, that said the bin was full when it was not. I would just remove and replace and it would work again. About 2 weeks later, an error "Motor Overload" started and now the litter box does not work fully. At first, if I just lifted the bin and set it back down, it would start up again, but now it will rotate and stop at the dumping phase and I have to manually dump it. It was great while it lasted, but I did see other reviews that said the motor was not well built and it didn't last long. It's very unfortunate, as this is a pricey litter box with great potential. I am very disappointed that it only lasted 3 months. Stopped functioning right after the return window closed. Neakasa really needs to do something about this. Update: After reaching out to Neakasa support; they shipped a new motor that I was able to replace and the box works again. I decided to change the setting to clean every 4 hours only to try and preserve the motor; not sure how long the new one will last.

My cats took to it immediately! Absolutely Worth It – Best Litter Box I’ve Owned!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Truly the Best Litter Box I’ve Owned – A Game Changer! ***** UPDATE ***** After replacing my old LitterMaid three times (twice under warranty), I eventually gave up and went back to a traditional litter box. But I finally upgraded to the Neakasa M1, and the difference is night and day. I’m truly impressed. This unit just works. No odors, no daily scooping, and it actually saves on litter. I use Slide Clumping litter, and it performs flawlessly in the M1. The waste bin holds a lot, and the included liners last a long time. I even tried regular kitchen drawer bags — they worked, but I’ll keep buying the M1 liners since they fit perfectly and the app alerts me when it’s time to change them. The smartphone app really stands out. It tracks usage, monitors litter levels, and even tells me the weight of each cat — an awesome feature for keeping tabs on their health. I have two cats: Jasmine (just over 10 lbs) and Tigz (2.86 lbs). The unit registers both of them reliably, and I was able to switch the weight display from kilograms to pounds with no issue. I originally ran it in manual mode because Tigz was under the 3 lb threshold. But now that he’s consistently recognized, I’ve switched to auto-cleaning mode without any problems. This litter box has saved me time, hassle, and back pain. It’s super quiet, extremely efficient, and well worth the investment. ⸻ Original Review (Still 100% True!) I’m really impressed with the Neakasa M1. Both of my cats jumped right in without hesitation — no need to add old litter or coax them into using it. Even my kitten (under 3 pounds) took to it immediately. At first, I kept it in manual mode and started cleaning cycles using the phone app, which is excellent. It tracks usage history, cat weight, and litter levels, and it’s incredibly easy to use. (Initially, I couldn’t find a way to switch from kilograms to pounds, but that’s now resolved.) The unit is very quiet and does a fantastic job keeping the box clean. I’ve tried other automatic litter boxes, and this is by far the best one I’ve used. Highly recommended!
