Is this container water tight?

As the lid just slots on, although a tight fit there are no clips/fixing to keep it on. The container is made of a polystyrene pressed material and does not have a hard plastic outer case to support it so wouldn't risk filling with water and lifting it.

is this ok for hot food?

I own a cafe use these boxes to transport food they work really well. But do not clean with sanitizer as it eats the material

Is this suitabler for ice and drinks?

Sorry I am not sure. It is pretty thick polystyrene so I would think that Ice would stay frozen for quite a while. We use it for frozen food at our Food Club and that stays Frozen for the duration of our food club which is around 2hrs
