AntHouse - Natural Sand Ant Farm | Medium Kit (Sandwich + Forage Box)

This ant farm is so much more fun than I thought it was going to be! It arrived earlier than predicted, was easy to assemble and there were many ants in the little test tube, which were actually easy to tip gently into the sand area at the top. (We first just left the test tube open in the foraging area but we got impatient and I was worried they would never find the main sand box!). We chopped the long tube in half and lifted the forage box section up on an old ice-ceam tub, as now the ants have a complete circuit. It was also a bit tricky for them to get up and down the long tube before - they would often slip and fall a bit so we made it easier for them by making it less vertical! My only niggle is that the clever little water dispenser (the ants drink a LOT of water and tis needs filling every few days) is a tiny bit long so the lid of the forage box it is in does not close properly unless you make sure there is absolutely NO sand underneath it. We had a couple of escapee ants and ow use masking tape to just make sure all exits are properly sealed. We have also put the whole thing in a plastic box (actually the bottom part of an old hamster cage!) to be extra sure that escapees are easy to catch! (We haven't had any since the first time though). All in all, despite the fairly high price, my kids and I can spend a long time each day just watching and wondering what the ants are up to. (I would also be very happy to hear any feedback/hints about our set-up from more experienced ant-keepers.)

Ants wouldn't use any of the out world components, wouldn't eat or drink and began to die. Absolutely terrible customer support. Tried to call, email and WhatsApp and never heard back from Ant World ES.

Comes with everything you need very easy to set up. Comes with a queen and lots of other ants.
