This milk is perfect for those of us who don't drink much milk but need to keep it on hand for the occasional bowl of cereal or for certain recipes. It is IDEAL for bad weather when power outages are likely. It is shelf stable and has a few months storage life. It is real milk, so it tastes like real milk and has the texture of real milk. It IS real milk. I've used it for years and used to get it at the grocery store. They no longer carry it, so thank goodness for Amazon! It is always in my fridge (although it could be in my cabinet instead). It is a bit more expensive than bottled milk, but if you normally use just a bit of the bottle and throw away the rest, this boxed milk will save you money in the long run.

This Organic Horizon low-fat milk is 1% with 2.5g fat per 8 oz and 110 calories. This is shelf stable (only need to refrigerate if opened) but still has the same taste and texture as fresh milk from the dairy section of the grocery store. These cartons have peel open tops as well as straws and are convenient backup for when I run out refrigerated milk and don’t want to make a special trip to the store just for milk. The cartons travel well for work to use in coffee, with cereal, etc., and these are perfect for school lunches too. I’m happy with the quality and convenience of this milk. I don’t stock up on shelf stable milk and buy as the small cartons I buy tend to have a short shelf life. However, it should still have a number of months (not weeks) before expiration. Dates vary but the Horizon milk I received has 5 months until expiration, which is reasonable and similar to the shelf life left when I’ve bought Organic Valley 1% milk cartons. I suggest checking price on both brands as this Horizon milk is a currently a superior value to 1% Organic Valley at about half the price for 18 instead of 12 cartons that are 8 oz each rather 6.75 oz. Will buy Horizon again. 5 stars.

I have found that these s/s (shelf stable) cartons of milk are great traveling companions when organic milk is not available at your destination, for example, a cruise. Or to a relative’s home. They pack easily and so far have been secure (no spilt milk (haha)). I just placed an order and will leave these at my relative’s home for access to me when I visit. What I have yet to try is freezing a carton to defrost to be used after defrosting, for example in a lunchbox. I know it will expand, but will it burst? Stay tuned — will update at a later date.

Great taste. I find it easy to keep and store. It’s nice to put one in the fridge and use it for dinner that evening in cooking. I also like drinking it. Good stuff.

This is the best tasing organic milk I have found. It is shelf stable and shipped very well. Shake well before consuming. After opening, I refrigerated the containers after as it has kept its flavor better for drinking or serving on cereal. I have not used it in baking or cooking yet. I would keep it refrigerated until use. There is no after-taste, just refreshing cold milk similar to 2 percent. I served it with cookies and found it delicious. UPDATE: These milk containers come in handy individual 8 oz packages with an attached straw. Kid will like that as it is "kid sized." I preferred to puncture the top and pour it into a cup or cereal bowl to use. - Ir goes a long ways. But, it is expensive at $14.00

I bought this since it was shelf stable & I only drink organic milk. I prefer fat-free, but this lowfat milk is really tasty. It was supposed to be for emergency use. That happened after we lost power during an ice storm & couldn't get our milk delivered from the grocer. Horizon milk is always so good & this 1% is delicious in coffee. Excellent product. Will buy again.
