Major hits CD
I really liked the order the songs are in, in this CD. Some of the songs I had forgot about until I heard them on this album. It's nice to hear Karen Carpenters voice again. And not to mention all the greats that contributed to all the songs on this CD. Richard Carpenter, Herb Alpert, Burt Bacharach, and Hal David, John Bettis, only to name a few. You can here their influence over much of the music on the CD.

このＣＤは、２つの点でカーペンターズのあまたの編集盤とは一線を画します。 リチャード･カーペンターがリミックスやオーバーダビングしたバージョンをコンピレーションに収録し続けてきた中で、オリジナル・バージョンを収録していること。 もう１点は、２枚組の中に全米ＨＯＴ１００ヒットがすべて入っていること。３枚目にはソロアルバムのハイライト。 これらにより決定版というべきなのだが、なぜか選曲を変えた盤が翌年に出た上、廃盤に。 オランダ盤Universal 983 584-5（2006年）を探してみてください。 なお、オリジナル･アルバム･バージョン採用のため、Yesterday Once MoreのエンディングにＳＥが入ったり、Calling Occupants...が編集バージョンでないのは致し方ないところ。 これと同年に日本で出たシングル･ボックスを手に入れてもシングル･バージョンのすべては集まらないようです。 本国でコンプリート・シングル集が出てくれることを望みます。
