You don't have to be a sharpshooter to make this work, but it could help
If this simple device seems a bit hard to figure out, you're not alone. It took me a while to master the logistics of how to position it so that those pricey eye drops hit your eye, not your cheek. Now, after much trial and error, the drops hit my eye 95% of the time, and that's why I'm giving this device 5 stars—even though I'd like to punish it with 1 star for the self-doubt I suffered along the way. Maybe I'm eye-dropper challenged, or maybe something's wrong with my face, because I can't see how to make it match the diagram on the box with the "extended edge next to your cheek." If you can't either, don't worry. Just experiment with how to fit the keyhole around the bottle—that's really important. One reason it's tricky is because the threads on the bottle are NOT straight, so how the hell are you supposed to position it STRAIGHT in the AutoDrop? I don't know either, but just persist. It's another frustrating part of making this device work, but hang in there, because if you don't secure the bottle in the keyhole, it could suddenly pop out. As you watch it roll across the floor and contaminate itself, there goes all meaning and purpose in life. But don't give up. Keep trying and you'll find the sweet spot where the bottle rests straight and secure. It seems that once the bottle and the AutoDrop get to know each other, somehow they work it out ;-) The next challenge is how to position the AutoDrop against your face. Experiment and try to remember that you really are a good person. I find that if the lower edge of the AutoDrop is close to the bottom of my eye, it works best, but it may be different for you. If you can't find the right position and your $50 eye drops end up on your cheek, keep trying. Like sharpshooting, this is an acquired skill. Be sure to locate the pinhole, high and to your right. If you can manage to look through that as you squeeze the bottle, it helps the drops find your eye. The point is that if you feel challenged by this simple device at first, rest assured that it does work and you will figure it out. After all, it's just a cheap piece of plastic with none of your human potential. So what if it challenges both your intellect and motor skills? Once you get to know it, you may, like me, be glad you gave it a chance.

Changed my impression of this product--now an A
Initially, I disliked this product because I found it difficult to get the eye drop bottle aligned properly. I had also bought a different product that was made of rubber or perhaps silicone in which the bottle easily was properly seated. But after using the latter product a couple weeks, problems developed. There is a seam where the bottle was inserted, and it split open—no longer holding the bottle properly. I tried a repair with glue but that stiffened the. seam so much I couldn't get the bottle into the opening. So, I went back to try the OM guide. I have come to love it. It works really well, it is durable, and my glaucoma is improving. I am a happy camper with OM's Autodrop Eye Guide! I give it an A.

Does work after several tries.
It's better than the alternative, wasting many drops to find your eye. I had that problem, this help, not completely, helped.

Useless
This device was practically useless. It didn’t fit any of my 3 eye drop bottles (various sizes). I will be returning it.

weak hinge
This is not built for multi use as the hinge is made of thin plastic and looks as if it will snap at any time. it does not secure the eyedrop bottle neck very well and there is more of an issue secure the 5ml bottle than the 10ml bottle. Also once in place it was difficult to make sure it aligned with the eye as at times it hit the lash and there were also times when the drop just ended up in the inside of the holder cap. I got very frustrated with it as had to use it 4 times a day and so I quit using it at times due to the issue getting the flap to close after attaching the neck of the eyedrop bottle. Basically the hinge mechanism needs to be revisited by the company

Fantastic! I can now apply eye drops by myself!
The Owen Mumford Autodrop Eye Guide works perfectly. After cataract surgery in both eyes, I am required to apply prescription eye drops several times a day for a period of weeks (before and after surgery). I had enough difficulty administering eye drops before surgery, and found it to be impossible after surgery. (After surgery, the eyes have no ability to focus at close-range -- so, I couldn't tell how close the eye drop bottle was from my eyes.) My wife had been administering the drops, but this proves to be problematical if she is away, or sleeping, etc. Or, if you don't have a husband, wife, relative, etc. available -- you are out of luck. Looking online for a solution to this eye drop application problem, I came across several eye drop guides. The Mumford seemed to have largely positive reviews, so I bought that brand. It fits my prescription eye drop bottles perfectly, and provides amazingly fast and accurate eye drops (actually, much better/easier/ more accurate than having my wife apply the drops). I don't know if over-the-counter eye drop bottles will fit-- but, I'm guessing they will. NOTE: It is best to apply the eye drops (using the eye drop guide) while lying down (horizontal) so the drop will fall straight down into your eye. If you sit in a chair or stand, you will have to bend your neck and lean far back to obtain a perpendicular drop. For those reviewers who gave this product poor reviews, I'm guessing that they were not allowing the eye drops to fall perpendicular into their eyes. This would be a user error, not a product malfunction.

Works well once you learn the secret trick --to exactly center the dropper tip over your eye
This works well once you learn the secret trick -- exactly center the dropper over the center of your eye. First make sure the dropper is screwed in the device and pointed straight down. Second lie back flat on a sofa or bed with your head looking straight at the ceiling. Put the device over your eye as instructed. Now comes the key part. You will be able to see the tip of the dropper through the opening in the device. Make sure it is exactly centered over your field of vision. You can move the device around a little bit, or tilt it this way or that to get the tip of the dropper exactly in the center of your field of vision. Pull down your lower eyelid if you can, look at the tip of the dropper through the hole in the device and squeeze. If you did this right the drop will fall exactly in your eye. If you have a problem seeing the tip of the dropper through the hole in the device, you might find using a folded washcloth over the other eye (the one not covered by the device) to block out the light will help. I found I didn't need a washcloth for my right eye, but needed one when I put drops in my left eye. You will miss, but with some practice should get accurate most of the time. If you are using prescription drops I'd practice using cheaper over the counter drops first. Best of Luck. I'm squeamish and wouldn't be able to get drops in my eyes without this device. Even though its tricky to learn to use I give it five stars because I can't think of anything that would do the job better.

My eyedrop bottle doesn't fit-Beware
Bought this and found out my eye drop bottle does not fit into this eye drop guide. I'm not sure how we are supposed to know which size fits this guide. Now I have a paper weight. Waste of money.

Buen Producto
