Effective, compact and highly portable, perfect for winter-time business travel and will slip into any pocket in your briefcase or backpack. Solid value for those of us who need a little help "getting up and going" in the winter time. Runs off any USB-C, this is good to go. I need help in the wintertime and value these Happy Lights. I have had an original Verlux Happy Light for many years now, and it has been essential to me making it through the winter time productively. I have been in a high pressure career for decades where almost every day is "go-go-go" and I simply can't afford the luxury of basking in the hazy shade of winter as I would like. Keeping the original light right at my desk has been of huge value to me, and it's still going strong to this day. A few months ago I was lucky enough to find another one at a thrift shop, and installed it on my night stand - some mornings I think it's the only reason I can make it to the gym in the mornings. However, none of these original halogen ones are at all portable, so when I had to travel for a week of full day meetings in Novembr I knew I would want some help. I was very happy to find this portable light. It's quite thin and portable, easily slipping into my briefcase, and runs off a USB-C cable off my travel charger. What really impressed me about it is the high output - actually stronger than my old halogen ones. I could place it on the hotel dresser, and still get plenty of light in the mornings as I got dressed for my meetings. It took gave me the "get up and go" I needed to hit the hotel gym before work, and stay alert and functional all day. I consider it a solid value for the money, and is now part of my permanent wintertime "go kit" for travel. Although I don't have any basis of refernece for other portable lights, I have built trust in the Verilux brand over the years and can recommend this one.

Love this. I love how light and portable it is so I can take it with me as I get ready in the morning (wherever I have an outlet). It definitely helps me feel more alert and in a better headspace than without it. Also makes a great make up light - two birds, one stone!

Very pleased. Amazing brightness; tiny size! Packs right up in my work bag. A coworker saw it and asked for the link; he bought it right then and there. I'm going to buy another one. Down with SAD!

Adds light to my office space. I use it for a half hour every morning. It's just difficult to turn on sometimes which may just be user error.

NOT THIS SIZE!!!! TOO FINIKY!!! Absolutely love light therapy- prescribed by a psychiatrist. Verilux was his brand of choice based on patient success and feedback. The connector ports are difficult to position. The buttons are usually unresponsive. I like the size but am giving up quality. Light quality is fine once you figure out bright, brighter or brightest. Not easy to use and is has frustrating functionality.

I can not say anything bad about Verilux Happy Lights. They are relialble, light settings are spot on and ease to use. Well what can you say about that, just sit and work and let so its job. I haven't used the timer yet, as for size, great for small places and portable. I have used Verilux Happy Lights for many years and may different sizes, they keep getting smaller and better from the fluorescent (they were big) to the LED all are and were full spectrum. The trick is to fallow the directions and give yourself time to let it work. Doesn't happen over night (none of them do) here time is your friend. By the way I live in Alaska, it gets dark for months. Long story short you can't go wrong.

Update: Reduced my star rating because the lamp has basically stopped working. The buttons rarely work and the light flickers when it does turn on. —— The “buttons” (which are more like flat touch pads) are extremely finicky. Sometimes they work on the first touch, other times I have to keep pressing them. I find it annoying especially when I just wake up. It could just be my device, but I had known this, I wouldn’t have purchased it. I do like the small size though.

Can’t say enough about light therapy, as a therapist. This little light is great for your desk, packs a punch. Love the timer.
