## Description

2014 release, the third full-length album from the Hair Metal rockers. Featuring vocalist Michael Starr, guitarist Satchel, bassist Lexxi Foxxx and drummer Stix Zadinia, Steel Panther's potent blend of Metal riffing, catchy hooks and Rock 'n' Roll bravado has earned them a huge fan base worldwide. The album features the singles 'Party Like Tomorrow Is the End of the World', 'The Burden of Being Wonderful' and 'Glory Hole'.

Review: The Inconvenient Truth - The inconvenient truth is that Steel Panther is the best hard rock group making records today. This is their third release and it's as good as the last two, though more accomplished musically. The songs are air tight musically - the songwriting is very very strong and varied. Their mastery of all styles of rock writing is undeniable to anyone not willing to dismiss them for humorous lyrics. There isn't a dud on this record, and none of the songs are alike. I agree with Michael Starr that this is the first record where Steel Panther's influences aren't obvious and they have their own well honed sound. But Steel Panther aren't just a bunch of guys that write great catchy songs, they are also some of the best musicians working today. Everyone of these guys is saturated in ridiculous amounts of talent. Michael Starr is a fantastic singer - he has the David Lee Roth scream down to a science, but he also has his own voice and a mastery of expressive singing. And it's hats off to Satchel - who I suspect writes all of the tunes in spite of the credits. His mastery of the guitar is simply jaw dropping. He has full command of every modern technique, but instead of endless repetition or mindless noodling - his solos are thoughtful and invested in the song. I know I'll get protests from all the fans of our established guitar heroes, but Satchel sweeps the floor with everyone alive but Jeff Beck. He writes better songs and his solos reveal an intelligence that simply isn't found in most accomplished guitarists these days. Finally, a good rock group starts with the drums for me. Groups that lay out the 4/4 beat leave me cold. What's great about Steel Panther is the drum parts are part of the song, much as they are in Zeppelin, Metallica and Slayer. Stix is clearly instrumental (sorry) in arranging the songs and pushing them to the next level, which often makes the difference between a fully realized sound and a group that's bores after a few listens.
Review: A master class in rock and roll! - Not only is the musicianship top notch but the songs are really well-written and absolutely hilarious!! The humor is definitely not for younger listeners so I would not buy this for the kids or anything like that. However, if you are looking for something that is really fun to listen to, doesn’t take itself too seriously (except for the playing…these guys obviously take their musicianship VERY seriously) and rocks harder than most of the glam-metal bands they are both spoofing and emulating, I would definitely pick up this album!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Put some butter on these guys because they are on a roll
*by A***R on April 1, 2014*

Seriously, great album. Disregard the funny song titles as being childish or immature. Some amazing guitar work by Satchel, lead vocals from Starr sound amazing, Stix doing a great job on the drums as usual, and Lexxi looking good as always and not really playing due to Satchel filling in for bass. Not only is this album raunchy goodness, but it's actually a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. It has a good mix with 80's glam "metal" with current heavy-rock/metal tones. Awesome cover for the album too, I wouldn't expect anything less from the Steel. I actually think this album is better than Feel the Steel and Balls Out. 5/5, Fanthers will not be dissatisfied with this album.
