Excellent new resource book for artists and designers.
This is a great resource book for artists and designers, as well as those who are interested in the history of voyages of discovery and Ocean Science. It features many beautiful photographs of Ernst Haeckel's unique 19C lithographs. It is well worth the price, the book is well written with a fasinating insight into The Challenger Expedition 1872-1876. The book itself is excellent quality and would make a lovely gift. The high resolution photographs of the original lithographs are of excellent quality and are varied with great detail. Very good value and would recommend.

This book is for everyone who loves nature, who is an artist and who loves artwork in general. It inspires and leaves one breathless - a great reference book to keep forever!

A great book in its own right! With lots of gorgeous pictures in large format this is a companion volume to Haeckel's monumental " Kunstformen der Natur ( Art Forms in Nature )" because it shows a number of plates that are missing in Art Forms in Nature, for instance, on page 130 ( Radiolarians Plate 117 with Circorrhegma dodecahedra). It is desirable to publish a sturdy hardcover edition.
