Tuni G1 Conical Burr Coffee Grinder, 48 Grind Settings, Ivory

I don't want Tuni to get the wrong idea and start charging more for this machine, but I agree that it punches WAAAAAAAAY above it's price point. So far it has far exceeded any expectations. The manual is easy to read and understand, it does the perfect grind for my finicky Gaggia Classic Espresso machine, the portafilter rests right on the hooks. Settings are easy to dial in, the touchscreen remembers your last cup size setting or timed grind setting, everything is easy to unlock and pull out to clean. Yes they included a bellows that you don't have to use. As a side note, they've also included shims if you want to grind even finer coffee finer than what setting 12 down to 1 would net you. I'm on setting 5(4 if adventurous) for my espresso machine, but I can't fathom what would be finer. Maybe Turkish coffee? Coffee dust to inhale? No idea. The sheet metal is nice. It's "affordably built", but in a good way. It doesn't feel cheap. There is a sticker on the side that shows how to detach and attach everything. That's 50 cents of cost added that the didn't have to do, HOWEVER people will appreciate that when the manual is lost and its just one of those little things that shows there was some serious design and user study put into this. The spout angle, how the hooks attach. The brush clipping to the bottom of the lid so it doesn't get lost in a drawer somewhere. It's the little things. To me it's not loud. It sounds like a coffee grinder. It's not "$10 dollar drip coffee grinder" loud. It's quieter than any industrial machine I've heard in a coffee shop. It might disturb your roommates in the morning, but so would the vibratory pump on an entry level espresso machine at that point. I don't know what volume levels people are expecting from a coffee grinder. Definitely an upgrade from the manual crank grinder I was using from a time standpoint and much easier to adjust the grind size to whatever new roasts you try.

Great machine! This is the first grinder I’ve owned, so I can’t compare its noise level to anything else, but I don’t think it seems very loud at all. It’s feeks very sturdy and well made. It looks really nice next to our other stainless steel appliances in the kitchen as well. I really appreciate that you can set the grind time to the 1/2 second and that it stores that setting for the next time you use it. I have a Breville Bambino Espresso machine and attach a funnel to the top of the portafilter and am able to rest the two together on the notch of the grinder, placing it perfectly under the shoot, unsupported by me. So it fits great!! I’ve have had zero issues with static cling after two months of use. Love the variety of grind settings as well!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this grinder. I did a bit of research before making my purchase, and I'm very happy with it. I purchased it thinking it would be a "good enough for now" stopgap measure until I could afford a "good" espresso grinder. I don't think I'll be looking to replace it short of a catastrophic failure. I dialed in my shot pretty quickly, and am near the middle of the "espresso grind" settings, with plenty of room to grind finer if I needed to. The ability to grind fine enough is usually a problem with grinders in this price range, but not on this unit. I weigh my beans and single dose grind. There is an option for timed grind, adjustable in .5 second intervals, and I've found that my dose consistently takes the exact same time to grind, every time. I you want to store beans in the hopper you could probably get a pretty consistent and accurate dose every grind. It's hard to beat that for ease of use. If my nerdiness ever fades and I stop wanting to weigh each dose I would be pretty comfortable trusting the grind time alone. I have been using it daily for about a month and never hade any issue with clogging, and a little tap on the side of the unit easily clears all grounds from the chute after the grind. The grinder is not the quietest I've seen, but it really is reasonable for what it is. In my case I only need to run it for 23 seconds to grind my 19g dose anyway, so it's really not a big deal.

The bellows and included shims are a great bonus—make sure to purchase the Noir version if you want these extras. The advanced display is another highlight, offering both a timer and cup-size options, and the grinder operates at a very muted noise level compared to others in this category. Controls are straightforward and intuitive, and I’ve noticed no static in the grounds cup, which is a big plus. Overall, everything feels well thought out. Long-term durability remains to be seen, but first impressions are very positive. The grinder delivers very uniform grounds, which makes dialing in espresso shots on the E2 easy and reliable. I’ve noticed a huge improvement in flavor clarity, crema, and shot consistency compared to cheaper grinders I’ve used in the past. The grind adjustment is precise enough for espresso while still versatile for other brewing methods. One thing I really appreciate is how quiet and solid the G1 feels during operation. I recently purchased this Tuni grinder and I really like it. It's compact, looks good, and is very well designed, as well as easy to use and clean. What I really like about it is the coffee chute. Previously, I used a Capresso conical burr grinder. The ground coffee came straight out into a plastic container. The exit hole is small and frequently clogs. Plus, the plastic box has static electricity so the coffee goes everywhere. The Tuni grinder has a large, round chute that allows the coffee to exit the grinding wheels utilizing gravity. It's big enough so it never clogs and the machine grinds at a low RPM to avoid heat (heat damages the taste of the coffee) and static electricity. It goes at just the right speed to make everything work. I use a Bonavita 5 cup coffee pot (absolutely the best appliance ever made, in my opinion). It has a permanent #4 cone filter the fits perfectly under the coffee chute. The coffee comes right out of the grinder and into the filter without being touched or creating a mess. The grinder also comes with a small collection cup what has a magnet on the bottom to keep it stable on the base, as well as a bracket to hold an espresso filter basket right under the chute. You can use the Tuni for any type of grind, from French Press to Espresso and everything in between. I love this machine. It's truly amazing and very easy to use and disassemble for cleaning. My coffee setup includes the Tuni grinder, Bonavita coffee pot another amazing piece of equipment worth every penny), Airscape medium canister (containing Amazon Sumatran Whole Coffee Beans), and Inevifit digital scale. Fresh ground coffee produced with good equipment is so much better than just a regular cup of coffee. It's worth every penny.

After three months of using a manual grinder (the MHW-3BOMBER R3) for espresso, I decided it was time to switch to an electric one. Grinding medium-roast beans had become a workout, and I wanted a more convenient option. That’s when I picked up the Tuni G1 coffee grinder. This grinder offers several features typically found in more expensive models, such as the ability to grind by cups or time. I personally use the time-based grinding function for better precision. Retention is very low, around 0.1 to 0.2 grams, so when I want to pull a shot on my Delonghi Stilosa, I weigh out 16.2 grams and get consistent results. You can also give the grinder a few light taps to reduce retention even further. One of the standout features of the Tuni G1 is its wide range of grind adjustments. It provides enough precision for most espresso needs. However, if you're planning to grind light-roast coffee, the factory settings won’t get you fine enough. To fix this, you’ll need to add a shim under the lower burr, a mod that’s common among grinders like the Baratza Encore (which even sells official shims). With the Tuni G1, you'll need to DIY it using a 0.25 mm thick material. I made mine using a plastic "No Smoking" sign I bought at a store. I marked the bottom of the lower burr with a marker, transferred the pattern onto paper to trace the holes, and cut the shim accordingly. With this simple mod, I gained 8 more clicks of fineness, making it perfect for light roasts. In terms of taste and espresso quality, I’d say the MHW-3BOMBER still has a slight edge, but considering they both cost around $100, the Tuni G1 gives you a lot more convenience and functionality for the same price. If you stick to medium or dark roasts, the default 12 espresso clicks are more than enough, no shim needed. I use this grinder as a single-dose grinder, and it works great. I store my beans in an airtight container to keep them fresh. I also contacted Tuni, and they mentioned they're working on a bellows to help reduce retention even further. I suggested they also consider offering a shim for users who want to grind finer. Overall, this grinder is a fantastic value. You get an espresso-capable electric grinder for the price of a manual one. Sure, it doesn’t have 150 clicks like the R3 Bomber, but you also won’t need to build arm strength every morning just to enjoy a great espresso or latte.

Great lil grinder. Like the E2 espresso machine this is paired with, its way better than you'd think for the dollars you spend. Mine was a lil fidly getting the grind right but its not very loud, does not get hot and seems pretty consistent. I love the small footprint and its got a decent aesthetic. So far I am impressed but time will tell if its truly a good value

Hasta ahora lo he probado muy poco, pero lo que he notado es que cumple muy bien su función, claramente al ser un producto importado el instructivo viene en inglés, pero si conoces un poco de molinos será fácil de entender y usar, estéticamente es muy bonito y no hace mucho ruido al moler, lo que más me gustó es que puedes jugar mucho con la molienda del café y además es muy fácil de limpiar y desarmar, me hubiera gustado que se pudiera apagar sin necesidad de desconectarlo, si sale un poco caro al pagar el costo de importación, pero hasta ahora siento que vale la pena

Hasta este momento todo muy bien he molido café para cafetera y para prensa francesa y se nota le diferencia en el molido, aún no he realizado la prueba para espresso supongo que todo saldrá ok, es para uso doméstico

Después de un mes con el producto es maravilloso. El mejor molino que puedes comprar a este precio, sí da el nivel de moliendo para cafeteras de espresso manuales, obviamente tienes que calibrar de acuerdo al grano que utilices y es para uso doméstico no creo que sea suficiente para un negocio. Ya habrá que comprobar la durabilidad pero hasta ahora todo excelente.
