Rain water will enter the inside (a lot considering it is just coming from the circular seal area). The rain will fill up the inside unless you have the bottom plug removed. I'm very disappointed that this is not not a storage stool considering it is hollow However it's still very good value, looks pretty good, and I recommend it as a side table, stool, and ice drinks store when sitting outside. **Q: Is the top flat? Can you use it as a table?** A: Yes the top is flat so can be used as a table top. Also can be used as a dtool to sit on.. We are really impressed with this item it’s very versatile **Q: I have the sofa set in Cappachino.
