Excellent, gold imitation, plastic
Yeah, when your 3-D print something or something is made of plastic, it’s not going to be 100% like metallic gold even if you see metallic gold in real life it doesn’t look like metallic gold so people saying this doesn’t look like metallic gold well that’s it’s gonna be impossible because only metallic gold looks like that. This is product of a good imitation gold look how uses for coins plastic coins I mean, you know and I’ve used it for other highlights on my work and it works really well. You know frankly it is a little yellow but for a layer to layer thing on 3-D printing, you really can’t do better than this kind of color gold you gotta sand it down or use some kind of you know like smoother which most people are not gonna do and I think this is a good substitute for using a real luster or shine gold? I can’t find anything closer on Amazon so this is really the best you’re gonna do when it comes to metallic gold imitation however like any 3-D printer thing you have to know what surface it’s going to to see the effect beforehand because if it’s just too thin a layer or it’s just not configured properly doesn’t have the right settings there you go I think this product is what is advertised. It actually provides a gold look of plastic. There’s certain things you can do to smooth it out, but you know those are on the printer operator to do not the plastic company.

Extremely disappointed
I honestly will no longer purchase from this brand. It messed up numerous prince that I tried to make. Everything came out blotchy or stringy, and somehow it actually ended up messing up my heating plate. I normally use bambu labs or sunlu, but they were out of the gold that I needed, and this was the perfect tone of gold. I gave it one more shot and was trying to create dragon eggs for a customer nine hours of me working on this project and it completely destroyed. Everything string started going everywhere. It started coming out in clumps and clogged my machine. It messed up my printing plate let alone it messed up nine hours of work! I am completely upset! I have been 3-D praying for a very long time and I have used plenty of different filament. But this one is very cheaply made. It seems like. And it does not like to adhere to the plate very well at all. I don’t know if it’s because the delivery driver left it out in the rain or if it’s just crappy filament. But I am completely mortified at this point, I really would like to give the seller another shot. Because I’m really hoping maybe I just got a bad batch. But at this point, I am just fuming! Maybe the seller will reach out to me and fix things if so, I will leave an update… now that I have to buy a new plate and figure out how I’m gonna print three dragging eggs for a customer that takes nine hours by 6 AM… yay! FYI there was much more string everywhere that I had to clean up and didn’t get a chance to take a picture of all of that. But here is some of it. Also, for some reason, it purges out very, very, very, very big clumps, compared to any other silk I’ve ever used.

A good aesthetically pleasing filament, the color is great. Prints okay with a few minor caveats
When it prints right it looks great! I have printed many awesome things with this first try. Only issue is it seems slightly too brittle and hard to print for any fine detail prints which is a shame since I planned on using the gold for small halos on top of an angel figure. The best print i got has a variation in thickness of 1mm which is alot But that geometry without supports isn't super easy for any filaments. It doesn't have the best layer adhesion, i brushed the one in the photos slightly too hard and the halo broke off towards the bottom where i ended up superglueing it back. The Halo was maybe twice the thickness of spaghetti but even easier to crumble. Definitely not an amazing filament for printing small details like a halo but great for ones without the small details The photo of the angel is after doing every calibration print I could, making sure it was completely dry and probably my 10th-15th try, which was my best one BTW Geeetech is an amazing company though that cares about its customers and providing the best products, they contacted me on their own terms about my struggles with printing the halo and listened to my feedback. They passed along my concerns to the factory where they will see about fixing the issues i had and ensure they are selling the best products they can as well as made sure they did everything they could to compensate me for the trouble i had with the filament without me having to ever ask. you can trust that if you order from them they will do everything they can to make sure your experience is good so you don't ever have to worry when buying from them.

Shiny as a new C-3PO! Geeetech Gold Silk PLA.
I was recently asked to check out a brand I’ve seen, but never tried… Geeetech. And, it just happened to be for Silk PLA, which I was already giving a serious shot for the time. Since I love Star Wars, have a few Star Wars prints in my office already, and this was gold Silk PLA; can you see where this is going?C3PO’s head makes for a nice pen holder.🤪 With an untuned profile, near max suggested temps, there was some minor stringing in the infill (I despise grid infill) and between the eye posts. In the Bambu AMS1, the spool walls and filament hugs very near to the feeder module. The proximity and smaller diameter spool do make success look uncertain for a minute, that does become better the further it is used. While allowing the spool to feed from an external mount would be easier, that is not the setup I have. Overall, this Geeetech Silk PLA filament printed smooth and evenly. It has a nice shine to it, and is also nice and relatively dry from the factory. When I tried to break it by bending it in half, it did not snap. Before use, definitely build a tuned profile! Though I may have had some minor troubles, I think some of them can be attributed to untuned settings on my P1S/AMS. Something I would like to see in future spools would be 1-2mm more inside width and 1-2mm greater diameter. These spool updates would not increase unit cost by much bout could have a profound effect on user experience across printer brands. I’m looking forward to what I can do in the future, with this Gold Silk PLA from Geeetech!
