Used to fix glasses didn't work very well

A section of the vaccum cleaner case had broken away, so I glued it back with this. It's a part that's under strain, it's where the screw joins part of the case together, and it's held up for a long time now with this glue. Plastics are hard to glue and usually repel everything I've tried - even general purpose glues that say plastics don't often work, so using a proper plastic glue is needed I think. It was about as easy to use as any other glue, and I left it to dry overnight to be sure, but might have been alright sooner. The broken part is hidden so looks didn't matter and I made no effort to make a tidy join. With care though and light use of the glue something tidy should be possible.

I needed to glue my magnetic phone holder back onto my dash after the double sided tape gave way. I would normally have used Gorilla Glue, as the same thing happened on my other car, and I was able to get it glued back on successfully this way. I bought this Bostik glue because other reviews said it was very good, has strong grab resistance, and dries quickly, which is partly true. In my experience it does have excellent grab, and does dry quickly. Two qualities that Gorilla Glue does not have, which means when using Gorilla Glue you have to either clamp or firmly tape what you intend to bond together. However, what is really disappointing about this Bostik glue is that it had no performance what so ever for this job I used it for. I cleaned both surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, dried, and applied the Bostik glue to both surfaces and stuck the mount on which grabbed immediately. I did however, use tape to hold it on just in case, as I was going onto to virtually a vertical surface. The following day, around 24 hours later, I went out to remove the tape. The phone mount literally fell straight off. Very poor indeed. And unfortunately leaving a nasty mess on my dash. Luckily I had my trusty tube of Gorilla Glue handy, which I used straight away after swearing a few times, and applying it to only one surface. Supported with tape, and 24hrs later my phone mount is on my dash, SOLID. So to summaries, Gorilla Glue may not be instant grab, or perhaps not as fast drying as the Bostik glue, but you can be assured of its performance that it will not let you down. Sorry Bostik, very poor.
