National Geographic Slime and Putty Lab Sensory Kit for Boys and Girls

I bought the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Mega Slime Kit & Putty Lab as a Christmas gift for my 4-year-old nephew, and it ended up being one of his favorite presents. From the moment he opened the box, he was completely locked in — bright colors, fun textures, and lots of hands-on activities kept him entertained for hours. First off, I really love how much variety comes in this kit. You get multiple types of slime and putty, including magnetic putty, which instantly became the “wow” factor for him. Each texture feels different, so he didn’t get bored moving from one activity to the next. One minute he was stretching slime, the next he was poking putty or watching the magnetic pieces move around. For a kid with a short attention span, that variety makes a big difference. What surprised me most was how easy the instructions were to follow, even for younger kids with adult help. Everything is laid out clearly, and the steps are simple enough that my nephew could participate instead of just watching. He loved helping mix things together and seeing how it transformed into slime — it really felt like a mini science experiment rather than just a toy. The sensory aspect is fantastic. The quality of the materials feels solid, and there was plenty included to make multiple batches. It didn’t feel skimpy or like a one-and-done activity. Even after Christmas day, my nephew kept coming back to it over the following weeks, which tells me it has real replay value. Of course, this definitely works best with adult supervision at this age, especially during mixing and handling smaller pieces — but as a shared activity, it’s wonderful. It turned into bonding time, learning time, and playtime all rolled into one. Overall, I’m really happy I chose this as a gift. My nephew was thrilled, the parents approved, and it provided hours of hands-on fun that didn’t involve a screen. It feels like one of those gifts that actually gets used instead of forgotten in a toy pile. (As narrated by my 10 YO) Has a lot of putty and slime. Is very fun to use and play with. It has one con - after a bit of time the slime dries out and gets hard to use. It loses its ability to be slime , becomes jello. Slime is a big part of this so you may need to reorder it.

I loved that they included a magnet, light and a stir stick. You also get an empty jar for the make your own slime. I reviewed my box with my 2 year old grandson first. He easily knew that when you shined the light into the putty it would glow if you turned the light off. The glow is very bright. He also figured out it made glowing dots if you poked the light into the putty. He was not excited about any of the wet slimes. He has some texture sensory issues so this was not his favorite. He loved the bouncy putty and the color change as well as the magnetic. Overall I would totally buy for a gift for the grands or their friends. I love that it is a STEM learning kit. Definitely worth the price. NOTE: I did cover the kids play table with cling wrap to cut down on mess. It worked perfectly.

I got this as a birthday present for a 9yr old. They love slime and had tons of fun playing with it. I was glad that there was no horrible smell from it and each slime had a different texture to it. The magnetic slime was the hardest but it still moved thanks to the magnet they give you. They like the glow in the dark one the most, I only wish they would have given a better blue light than the little one they packed in it.

This was a gift for my 7 year old and she LOVED it. It came with many different types of slime/putty, and she was fascinated with all of them. They are all very long lasting, EXCEPT for the bouncy slime. It dried up after a while and turned into a hard foam, and we werent able to stretch it out anymore. But all in all, this box of slime was great! I would definitely recommend it!! Makes a great gift.

Bought for my grandkids aged 3 and 6. My daughter was very impressed with the product quality! My 12 year old grandson even played with the putty and Slime. One warning is that the liquid slime left white marks on her black table so ensure there is protection between liquid slime and table! But everyone was thrilled. Pay the extra for the better quality as it is educational as well. Very much would recommend the product.

Good way to explore the different types of slime /putty. The magnetic putty is ok but it’s not that magnetic. The powder slime included, once “done” only lasted 3 days in its container before becoming more a gooey smelly substance. All the other slime and putty are pretty fun, for kids and adults.

Bought one kit for my son and he loves each pack of slime. We haven’t yet made the one pack our selves but he has a lot of fun playing with the magnetic slime. Keeps the kids busy and happy. Worth what we paid for it. Happy with the quality !

My 6 year old loves this stuff. Asked a lot of questions and the kit is well informative. Great kit to do with your children adult supervision seemed necessary and table protection as well. The smell are nice and the different slimes are fun to play with and experiment.
